How to compare headphones? I tried to tailor a chain for Immanis to get a grips of its potentials and avoid what i previously dislike it, yet that chain used for the shootout is, by no means, the best for SUV and even Aperio.

The biggest problem is that, while phantom is the most transparent and cleanest there, I couldn’t find a perfect headphone amplifier that is clean, transparent enough and also with the perfect bass texture to serve these headphones like Immanis. For my current chain, adding pre will increase noise not to mention the power amp is too noisy. Therefore while Immanis, as a double sided open headphone, is bigger and airier sounding, I couldn’t make a system for it to make it reach the transparency as well as bass slam of Aperio.

For the later, all the show setups are misleading other than magnificently failing that can, except Magna is meh; for the former, the one major aspect bothering me most about OG Susvara is distortion personally, the SUV is moving towards the right direction yet unveiling other flaws less unveiled in OG SUS, any deviation from neutrality and sound balance has price to pay.

Ok this is the best I could get it to be for now before my second monster PSU comes back or more precisely it is pretty much just it irregardless lol Even home impression could be unreliable like my experience with the previous unveiled restricted by what I had at that time. SUV is one of the two cans which I have most dramatic opinion swings to the opposite directions with ongoing experiments, the other is the heavily moded Sennheiser Orpheus HE90. Yet my final conclusions of these two cans are also opposite.

I know these tests don't mean much, and I say this as Sus owner for 7 years now... The Immani is nearly entirely better at lower level detail retrieval, dynamics, low end tone and overall timbre. Might be the real deal!

Once again, it would be damn hard for my mentor to be wrong, cause he is god tier! Tonally it reminds me of the MSB Premiere with all the most recent updated modules which has been hyped as one of the most analogue sounding DACs by many dealers, except this is way more transparent and way less congested and noisy.

Check if you have the issue of "noise" in the right channel when you are listening music with a lot bass and you turn the volune knob in that moment. I had that problem with 2 new units of phamtom
