This is probably the most thorough tutorial I could find online about technique. The distribution of weight gave me a light bulb moment. Thank you for sharing!

For 1 spins. The suede can help but the non stop spins I can see you are stepping it fast. How to do that. Please share

I am talking about travelling spins here
@emilyhodgesdance2 ай бұрын
For traveling spins try to keep your footwork small and even (not putting more weight or time on one side vs the other) this will help you get faster along with working on your spotting :)
@kritika27332 ай бұрын
Hi are you stepping on the spins or It's just the suede rubbing on the floor and helping to spin
@emilyhodgesdance2 ай бұрын
Each spin on a traveling spin is a full step (you want to avoid dragging feet across the floor)

Dear Emily, excellent videos, thank you so so much for these, I have one question, you mentioned move from chest, could you please explain this, do you kean chest movement in initiating rotating ? Please could you explain ?!!
@emilyhodgesdance2 ай бұрын
Hi! When you're working on changing direction in turning it's helpful to remember where your chest is going to be facing next so you're clear on direction. You want to do this instead of thinking, next I'm turning to the windows, for example so that it doesn't matter where you are , you can change direction based on your own body and not what's in your room. Hopefully this helps clear it up!

I prefer salsa “on one” because the turns and movements are on the slow step. The “on two” would put turn on the quick step.
