The Simple Minds are one of my favorite eighties retro/new wave bands of all time. Mick is one of many influences in my music compositions! I recently have been learning to play the intro to Up On The Catwalk! Waterfront is another favorite from Sparkle In The Rain!

You can say that about many of the Minds' instrumentals before Mick left. Dynamic, atmospheric, epic. Their later ones lack that inspiration.

Yes, there is even a clue in the title of 'film theme'. Actually do I hear this in 'sleeping girl'? That is a post-mick track I always thought was crying out for an instrumental mega- arrangement in the grand McNeil era minds style

His chords are instantly recognizable. You can't say that about many keyboard players. He really brought Simple Minds to a more soulful and athmospheric level.This track could have sit somewhere between Sons & Fascination and New Gold Dream.

Just listened to the brilliant New Gold Dream on which Mick's keyboard playing is truly stratospheric so had to come to this brilliant effort. Still sounds as good as 2 years ago.
