it's always a pleasure to hear how garegga is overrated :) I wonder though, to what degree the ex-compile devs were involved in planning and making garegga into what it become, compared to S. Yagawa. e.g. usually it's casually said that Yagawa made everything casually inventing the destructible bosses and rank along the way, though it seems he didnt work with rank before garegga. in compile though, there was tradition of doing rank at least since zanac (10 years before) with 2 raizing games with rank before garegga, and the compile guys like K. Nakashima, Watanabe, Y. Toyama were involved in dev process.
@AKTANEARCADE11 сағат бұрын
@@DewShick that is a really good point! I think simply having rank wasn't sort of the big revelation. I think having the player make more conscious choices to increase or decrease rank was the key. You could argue that Gradius had rank control but im not sure if was intentional. Zanac you could avoid certain pickups but that's still not exactly the same. I think the real answer to the exact type of rank equation is the influence of Gun Frontier much more than the compile versions of rank. Garegga feels like a direct sequel and evolution to Gun Frontier more than anything, to me!

Good job, Bilko! I dipped my toe into this at the start of the year and kept falling down at that final FINAL boss hurdle. So how exactly do you recharge your health if you're in trouble? Hold down both the "rapid shot" and the "laser" buttons and hit enemies with that?
@AKTANEARCADE4 күн бұрын
@@clippa exactly right. It's counter intuitive but that is the trick. So you know the meter on the left? With the red light? That weird chain meter is how you get BIG gems from enemies. Big gems charge hyper. When you hyper you get health back. Hyper is what you need to recharge health. The TRICK is that health draining rapid+laser is 1.) super strong great damage and 2.) attack ALWAYS gives those big gems so you almost ALWAYS get a hyper level 1 from using it just for a few enemies. You can then pop hyper and do the above and get healthy. TLDR: You use the health draining attack to get bigger gems which gives you a hyper refill very fast. In this run I didn't even play that well but I managed my health shit real good.

Considering that this game started on mobile, Masayuki Ito added *Keyboard and Mouse* support in order to emulate the feel of the original game. While not necessarily the same game, i tried mouse and keyboard on BHM Black and the unorthodox control scheme plays like a dream. If that’s not for you, you can customise your movement speed in the settings. Not only that, but getting a new best score will cause the score counter to turn blue! I’m glad you found this hidden gem, AKTANE!

Can anyone explain the difference between: Bullet Hell Monday Bullet Hell Monday: Finale
@AKTANEARCADEАй бұрын
@@stensgaard_youtube there's 3 games, bhm, bhm black, and bhm finale. And they're all simply different games with different levels and such. Finale is a sequel the same way black is a sequel.
@DaKing0826 күн бұрын
Bullet Hell Monday (or what i like to call BHM1) is just the base game with the core mechanics. It has both Chapters (level-based progression, level up your craft, etc.) and Challenges. (standard arcade shmup mode, has stage select) Do note that: 1. I haven’t played the PC Version, but i can tell that it puts its paywall upfront rather than has you buy additional shot types with money (or rent them for AP) 2. PC Version has a TLB and replay system whereas Mobile version doesn’t. It’s effectively BHM1 Remastered. As for BHM Finale, it adds SPs into the game. Charge them by filling a meter and unleash them upon your foes. Some shot types like Blade, Phantom and Time were converted into SPs. (Phantom was converted to Decoy.) There’s 2 swap SPs (ones that activate on weapon switch) and 4 Loadout SPs (ones that you can mix and match; albeit you can only choose 2 at a time) BHM Finale is ONLY Chapters. No Arcade Mode. There’s also a ‘2nd loop’ of sorts that only appears after beating the game. It’s locked to the hardest difficulty in the game, Heaven. BHM Black, conversely, has no Chapters. Just 5 Arcade-style stages. You also get ALL of your SPs at once. I do have the PC Version of BHM Black, so here are some differences: 1. PC Version is a one time purchase whereas mobile version is a ‘try before you buy’ with one free stage. The rest are paywalled. Mobile Version also has supporter packages. Premium Supporter unlocks the music box (an extra that lets you listen to the game’s eurobeat soundtrack) whereas Ultra Supporter unlocks additional replay features. BHM Black PC also has an additional ‘arrange’ mode of sorts, with an alternative ending cutscene. (Unlocked after beating the game on Normal.) Lasly, BHM Black PC has 2 additional shot types not in BHM Mobile, which are Search and Homing.

@AKTANEARCADEАй бұрын
@@MitzTSCM did you use sword for that?
@MitzTSCMАй бұрын
@ no but blade is indeed a strong weapon. I used the most basic combo of laser and spread shot. The laser is the best weapon to milk popcorn for percentage and the spread shot has actually pretty similar dps compare to the blade when pointblanking and has overall great screen coverage tho the bullet cancel attack of the sword is really good. The laser bomb does great dmg and has a pretty high duration. The spread bomb is rather situational but is a lot easier to use compare to the sword bomb and has also no delay. A lot of the scoring strats come down to prefire and quick kill most enemys in the stage. For certain points in the stage you want to bomb the enemys because bombed enemys give doubled percentage value. When you got a high percentage in the stage you want to milk the crap out of the boss with bullet cancels and bombs. I think that the scoring system is really clean and has not the frustrating parts of ddp like chaining or like futari randomness of how much you exactly get from bullet cancels. The only problem I have with it is that on a jaimers level of skill you basically have so much percantage and score gain that you bomb spam your way through the game because you get an extend every two seconds which you then suicide for bombs which completely kills the survival difficulty.
