Great video :). I have a thinkpad t480 and a macbook pro 14 m1 pro. I bought the mbp on a whim. I will start with ML soon, now I am learning linear algebra, multivariable calculus and probability (self-taught). I hope to start ML in 9-12 months (fingers crossed!). But I would like to change my mbp to a pc with rtx 4070 and ryzen 7 5800x using a debian x86_64 linux distro when I'll want to training models or as personal uses. I think this because I don't want to buy more non-repairable computers (for instance apple computers), I want to be more responsible in buying things that I really need and I think I could start using my t480 (i5 8th gen) with 32gb and nvme disk and internal Intel graphics and change my mbp to a ryzen computer. I would like quit from apple ecosystem and to try with linux + repairable computer (to add ram, switch disks, change processor, etc in the future) today although now I don't need it, because if I wait to sell my mbp in 12 months, this mbp will be devalued in price. What do you think about this? Could I start with my t480 (NO Google Colab) and in 2 months sell my mbp to buy a pc? Do you think that is a interesting point? Thank you!

2024: `bitnami/kafka` instead of the images exposed in the video. I am not sure sure if at 2021, where the video where released there was not an official Kafka image around there.

Hi Dario ! I analysed few gpx files for a specific segment.. 1 rider who’s in suspect of cheating his Climbing distance comes to :2.5 km Whereas all the other riders on the leaderboard who rode the similar route their climbing distance is : 5.6-6.7km more or less.. Why such discrepancy ??

I install Airflow , after install i used postgres as Metadata , in the schema tables are created, ike ab_user , all the data are in table , but when i trigget the dags its getting fail , no data nlog also ,bcoz task itself fails , so no data captured . but if change the metadata to default sqlite its working fine. i mean dags sucess . Airflow version : Version: v2.7.1 . Postgres : 15 . in airflow.cfg file i added sql_connect: sql_alchemy_conn= postgresql+psycopg2://postgres:pass@localhost:port/DB and schema : airflow. i have not change any other setting . when i create the dag its saved in table , but when i schedule or trigger dag , the task getting fails . kindly help me out. Very interesting. Since epochs are not independent from each others. Can we really use this technique? It feels like running independent 100 fits of xx epochs with different rates would be more logical. Changing the formula used for varying the LR (replacing 30 by 50, or "epoch" by "101-epoch" for example), leads to very different "best LR". Perhaps I am missing something here.

i tried creating virtual environment and then installed kafka. it shows that it is already installed. but when i import the kafka. it throws me error "No module named 'kafka'". Why so?

look at the example of the dummy data, the model is very bad at learning the simple mapping x-->x^2. If you try the cpu version, the training loss and error strictly decreasing. Is this an issue of the compatibility of tensorflow with the m1 chip? I noticed other tasks with the similar performance dropping.
