How do you prepare the wall before you paint?

If your wall is painted with a standard PVA then just ensure it's clean and dust free by wiping with a damp cloth first. If it's Enamel, you need to first apply a universal undercoat. wait 24 hours and then paint with Tjhoko 🎨🌸

The microfibre cloth works brilliantly. It's so much softer and smoother than the mutton cloth and glides over the surface 🖌️

Please don't use vinegar. Use a damp microfibre cloth, a few drops of Dettol in the water for germs is fine. 🖌️🌿

Invest in good quality sanders. There are many options on the market. An orbital sander is brilliant and then a mouse sander for smaller detailed areas. You can also get sanding gloves 🖌️

This is absolutely stunning.😍 I love the texture that the hessian brings to the surface❤. Would I be able to recreate this effect with any of the Thjoko metallic paints? In other words, can the metallics be used for stenciling onto fabric?

Thank you so much ♥️🎨 The metallic range is different to that of our Chalk Paint range. What you can consider, first stencil with a darker colour like Sheriffs Stone or Matt Black. Then replace your Stencil and apply your metallic. This will assist in getting the full effect of the metallic colour. Alternatively, just play around a little on a spare piece of hessian

Nadine you are truly an inspiring woman. I'm originally from Klerksdorp, a small world indeed. I met you in Cape Town at one of your workshop's in 2018, where I started my journey with Tjoko paint and have loved each piece I've created. We stayed in Vietnam for 3 years and have just come bac, I could NOT wait to restart my Tjoko experience again but this time in Langebaan. Hi there, the wipes are multi purpose and are used to clean up accidental spills , hands, or remove excess paint from edges of projects etc. As well as clean the rims of your jars before sealing etc. Your actual project doesn't get wiped down, unless you are wanting to use them while your paint is still wet incase you made a mistake or need touch ups done. 🖌️🌸
