Yours is a fluke. This model is sometimes distributed in AM or FM only. You left questions unanswered because you used it incorrectly. Turn open the squelch. Now"squelch" it just with the RFGain knob. Does that annoying hiss disappear? One other question: Can you turn the speaker back on during transmit by grounding the ground side of the speaker, like most AM CB's? I hate FM. The only reason I'm showing interest is because a few planes and boats use 24 volts. R F Gain? The Uniden PRO 520 has it, and fabulous service. The PRO 510 does not ( big mistake ).

a guy with a massive linear amp in Topeka could broadcast through a stereo amp. No tuner, no radio. Just a separate JVC amplifier, if it was on. Used to scare the crap out of me.

Cool scanner- I used to have(90s) the non-trunking predecessor to this one. Had 400 channels and needed them. Now I have a 100 ch one and hardly a need for more than 20 of them, Times change. Good vid.

Mass majority of these ass holes on base stations at in florida. Big amplifier builders and cb radio modifiers shooting skip all day on 19 instead of going to another channel. Truckers should boycott Florida.

All you cry babies can get over yourselves the only reason why any of you belly ache over his broadcasts is because you all are jealous because your radios sound like crap compared to his. You know you can do what we use to do in the old days and just simply turn it off FCC rules don’t apply in the CB world anymore so really there isn’t anything you can do about it lol. @@cubsfan5734 in my area of NC they aren’t. But it’s usually a very vague patient report not even worth listening too In Massachusetts it’s all UHF analog detailed report usually if it’s a code

can you you use the radio on the charging cradle without the battery? for monitoring only?

Nope 👎 the radio won’t get enough voltage to function in the charging cradle without the battery and will just sound the battery alert endlessly. I had multiple radios for 1-2 years in the charger on 24/7 monitoring the local analog police department and nothing happened battery wise

@@OldCBnGuns i had a baofeng uv82hp stuck in that charger for almost 5 years the battery is bloated and the kd-cd1 on charging cable also bloated too bad it wont work without a battery. the battery is cheap. but a hassle. so ill go for quansheng k5(8) which can work without a battery and just a USB-C for monitoring.

It was easy to carry on duty and off duty. We switched to the Sig P229, which was heavy to carry. Detectives had the option to carry the 6946 or a single stack version, I forget the model number.

I bought 2 brand new 070 for my beretta and glock. Great holsters. very good looking. They do take FOREVER to break in brand new. I had to use heat, hair dryer, stuff the gun into a plastic bag before putting it into the holster to expand it.

Holy shit, this fascinates me. I’m not a trucker, but I saw this KZbin short of a trucker using the radio to tell another trucker that his tire was about to give out. A bunch of the comments were truckers saying they don’t even use radio anymore because of Mud Duck How long has this guy been doing it? How far out does this guy’s radio broadcast span across the country?

I think 🤔 it started around 2022 or so, I originally thought he was a local guy on 19 as his signal was so strong in NC under almost any conditions. He’s not on as much anymore but still on probably every other day.

The problem with these pistols, what really killed them, was they got a bad reputation very quickly when people realized just how inaccurate they are. Maybe they're fine for police who are mag dumping on a guy from 2 yards away. But my dad bought a 411 in 2000 that he got CHEAP, like $300 and it was NIB. I took it out to the range and couldn't hit even hit the paper with it!!! I adjusted the sights, nothing. Got closer, like 2 yards away, adjusted the sights again. Ok. Backed up to 10 yards, still couldn't hit the paper with it. It was just throwing rounds everywhere. Total, utter GARBAGE. Every other pistol I could keep everything in the X ring at 10 yards. My Browning Hi-power, my 1911, P38, Beretta 92, S&W model 57 and Walther P99. You name it. So the problem wasn't me. You gotta think, if they were as good as people say, they wouldn't have died out. People always come up with that "Glock killed it everyone wants plastic". I don't buy it. Did Glock kill the Sigs? Did it kill the Beretta 92? The CZs? 1911s are as popular NOW as ever before.

It isn’t the best far away handgun. Especially compared to the S&W 3913 (DA/SA) and the Beretta 92. Update: yeah it sucks compared to my Sig P226 even in .40. Shoots high and really isn’t a confidence builder the 6946. But the 6946 was my grandfather’s and was my pre ban carry in Massachusetts. It’s largely been replaced by my Sig P365 and 3913

Yes it would however, the truckers still use 19 AM. I would have your squelch and RF gain set midway but you’ll only have 1-2 miles or range but you’ll filter out mud duck and others who just blab on and on accomplishing nothing

I am a 27 year trucker. I am always listening to 19.. I don't get where you say we don't monitor CB. Every truck in my company is using 19 every day.
