Actually this is the iDrive knob from BMW I had back in 2005😅 Well this one looks much much better. That was just plain aluminum.

Great Projest but for me, the power supply is still an obstacle. If it was battery-powered, it would be wonderful.

over 35 years ago (precisely in 1989) Canon released two camera lenses - the 85mm f/1.2 and 50mm f/1.0 that had the electronic coupling between the focus control ring and the motor and oh boy... it's so satisfyingly accurate! it feels like the ring is really physically connected but it's not. I only know that they are using the ultrasonic motor, I think it is still the pinnacle of the encoder+motor engineering. I mean, they did it in 1989, and we are coming closer only now...

I check online and the As5600 info..that only radial magnets works, mine is in shipping. Radial magnets do not stack, it sticks on the circumference that’s how we differentiate N & S is not on the face but at the edge❤. I m ordering to use as motor control feedback. Also like to try fit in the RC servo as feedback probably using another smaller As5600 just nice fitting in the Pot position. Thanks for sharing yr awesome encoder bro also the perpendicular magnet tip❤

Hello there. I would like to ask you about this project, Could it be applied to the dsp amplifier to setting the requenzy and others? I was building my own speaker from my dead Harman Kardon's speakers. May I know if it possible. Thank you

lol I used that same TTGO as a thermostat and a remote desktop viewer. It's poor quality but it continues working somehow.

wonderful stuff, I wonder if with a more advanced motor controller, we could simulate a 'frictionless' knob, one that would keep spinning until you stop it.

Methinks this would be pretty wicked to play Tempest and Arkanoid. Though a driver for MAME might be slightly problematic.

Hi Scott, I have never used the Arduino Pro Micro and download the app for my MacBook Pro but I cant see to get the board controller for the Arduino Pro Micro to talk to the app. Any chance I can get some assistance from you?

So cool. Do you think you could make a mini force feedback or haptic steering wheel for car video game?
@andrereeves1313Ай бұрын
A cool feature would be detents of increasing resistance as the value approaches the useful end of a output variable. I imagine a thermostat that is fairly free wheel until it gets within the 18-24 degree range and then has a hard stop at the upper working range of the heating system. This would be a haptic way to suggest an optimum temperature gauge as well as the systems limit. I don't believe this would be a novel and fairly new use case that would actually require this type of technique

will it heat the motor/driver if the user hold the knob when the haptics occurs? since it will give an amps to the same motor coil for long time

i want to see the motor continue the motion its set in with a miniscule amount of friction, so you can spin it like a game wheel.
