guitar market needs to crash yesterday. those prices are insane....

I bought one, finish was awful, cloudy. Two inspection stickers on back. They both missed a big issue. A bad drill job on the S1 knob farthest to the right. My fellow employees at my guitar store reviewed the ax and all of them said they were astonished it got through inspection. Fret board screams Seymour’s are dynamite.

I prefer to shop for used guitars online than at a retail shop. For example I just bought a nearly mint black 2004 Epiphone Les Paul Custom which the owner had the bridge pickup replaced with a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Solid mahogany body like Gibson used to make them in the 1950's. It has to weigh 8-9lbs. It came with a hard case, leather strap and guitar stand all for the price of $430 USD. There are deals out there.

Yeah, Summerlin-Charleston and Buffalo. The other Guitar Center seems to have more audio gear, especially if you're a DJ. I’m not a fan of the guitars at the South Guitar Center; it’s just not as well run, and it’s hard to get help. It’s that typical experience where you want to love it but leave wondering why you came…unless you’re a DJ. If that’s the case, it’s a great spot, with tons of audio gear, amps, etc. For guitars, though, Summerlin is where it’s at. The used guitar wall is impressive-high-quality instruments at nice prices. I was surprised by it. If you’re looking to buy an instrument, this is the Guitar Center for guitars. The staff here knows more, is far more helpful, and they have a good selection of audio gear too, though maybe a bit less in stock, IMHO. But…before you buy a guitar at Guitar Center, check out Sixx Gunn Guitars and Roman Guitars! Here’s why Sixx Gunn: they make their own guitars, are awesome people, and every instrument you buy there is perfectly set up, right off the shelf. Guitar Center? Meh. I get annoyed by how unprepared the guitars are (not intonated); it’s like they’re just thrown up there. You’ll likely have to set it up yourself or pay $200 for it. Sixx Gunn, though? It’s all done for you. They also have a side company, Valkenburg Guitars-chef’s kiss, fantastic guitars. Honestly, I’d compare his work to upper-level Fender Master Custom Shop quality. He’s a real artist. Roman Guitars: they’re a bit harder to deal with since they focus more on selling Roman guitars. Their models are incredible, though there’s less selection if you’re after Fender, Gibson, etc. Still, it’s worth a look; it’s almost impossible not to find at least one of their guitars that feels like a work of art. It's a private make an appointment type experience. It's worth a look. I like Valkenburg better.. More my sensibility. But if your playing Metal.. Roman guitars are a must see.

Some of those guitars were filthy, they had dust all over them, whoever is responsible for keeping the guitars clean needs a kick up the butt IMO. I like to shop for used guitars at the smaller shops, I make lowball offers which I know will be rejected, and they usually come back with a counter offer which I reject and don't make another offer, I look at a similar new model or two and then make to leave, 9 times out of ten they will then make a better price and I will try to get a little bit off that price or ask for a quality long lead to be thrown in or a deal on a pedal. I tend to get better deals if the guitar has been there a while, I visit guitar stores quite often and keep an eye out for used guitars I really like and take note of how long they have been there, the staff know me and also know that I wont pay high prices, because of this they will often accept my low offer just to get shut of the guitar, as long as they have made a little profit they are happy, guitars seem to be much cheaper in the US than here in the UK.

Cool ax. I owned a Schecter Deluxe that I sold a couple years ago and really regret it. I had loaded it with a Duncan JB/Jazz combo and it screamed. Played great, looked great. I'll probably be getting the Omen Elite-6 for my next Schecter. I dig the stock pups.

I just looked up a Striker on Sweetwater and this is how it lists the bridge pickup: "Kramer Alnico 5HB-1 Zebra Coil Humbucker." Very JB-like, but its own thing. It's the kind of pickup I would never change. Cool ax.

Good demo. Kramer's been putting some very hot pickups in their guitars lately. If it's not a Duncan JB, it's a Gibson pickup (Gibson owns Kramer). They sound terrific.

Looks like this store has a glut of used guitars, basses, and pedals that are now filling any empty floor or cabinet spaces. I am thinking this Guitar Center is not offering much for buybacks of the lower end stock, sellers desperate for money will take anything, and the store is passing that savings to the buyer. Have to clear that inventory some how. If you can somehow upload at a minimum of 1080p, the image quality and clarity would better show off the detail and the prices would be easier to read. 720p is not cutting it in 2024 nor doing your videos any justice.

Thanks for speaking as a normal guy would. NO people who seriously play take a hopped up guy, going thru his inventory from his bedroom, that daddy purchased. You would like to own some, who wouldn't? Doing the video in a guitar store makes you very similar to the majority of people who are watching. You are a excellent communicater, making clear, concise observation of the product being reviewed. To do this, is a combination of several factors must be present, most salient, making the student, or guitarist comfortable. How many people quit lessons, due to the teacher being less th an friendly or downright rude, and bitter. ?

I love Schecter guitars even their entry level guitars are amazing. I never bought one new always used and I have gotten very good deals. I think the most I paid for any Schecter was about $220.00 with a majority of them in the $150.00 range. I had 12 in total gave two away to my son I have 10. I might have 11 I really think one is not on my list. Two of those I got recently are a C1 in metallic blue and a Gryphon with a trans black flame top. The least I spent was $129.00 for a n Avenger 7 (7 string) I have never come across another it's grey with specs of metal flake in it.

@frettingitforward no worries about a late reply. I understand you have a life to live, man. A lot of folks don't even bother to reply, so you're miles ahead of most. I'm not totally used to the neck yet on the Michael Kelly, working on it. I went from being a Gibson/Epi guy to a Fender guy overnight. I was looking at Les Paul's and SG's when I saw the MK. The real maple cap at that price put it over for me. I might put a set of Duncan 59's i have in it, but the stock pickups are actually fine.
