how do i win against someone with the same level as me? usually we just get losses and wins but no one has alol of greater wins. i could try to outplay them but they will usually try the same.

Loved the video! In my short experience of being a tournament player, in serious games, the highest rated wins Ive had have been the ones in which we landed in a position that was sound, but was very complicated for tactical/strategic reasons. Which allowed for sacrifices and pawn play which complicated the game and allowed me to prevail. My highest rated win in a tournament was vs a 2200 FM, after 1.e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Cc3 Bb4 4. e5 c5 5. a3 Bxc3 6. bxc3 Qa4 7. Qg5, complications which of course my opponent allowed to happen, but after some moves he missed a knight sacrifice that allowed me to win the game 20 moves after. This video was amazing and really encapsulates the concept of "complicating games but not playing dumb things that will take you to worse positions just to take them out of theory", you have a new sub bro, keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for the kind words, and congratulations on your great win! I’ll be releasing the next part of the video soon, where I’ll demonstrate the opposite: how to play against weaker opponents. The difference will be huge, I hope you won’t get bored! :)

Coach your videos have tactical themes more complex than many chessable courses and GM analyses. How does an adult who does not have the time to do hours of puzzles each day train to reach such level?

Thank you very much for the kind words! If you have Facebook, I’ll be posting a blog entry about this on Wednesday! :) If not, feel free to look my up through email, and I’ll be happy to help you!

Still watching the first game. What Sicilian do you normally play if your opponent plays into your prep?
@Coach_IstvanovszkiАй бұрын
Hey! I play all kinds of Sicilian Dragon. My main weapon is the Dragonwing variation, but I also play the main lines and occasionally the Dragadorf. I’ve been playing the Dragon since childhood, and I have a few home-prepared analyses that I plan to showcase in my upcoming videos. Very rarely, I also play the Sicilian O’Kelly variation.

Definitely an interesting video. Please make more videos like this and organise them like a catalogue of middlegame positions. I really like your style of explaining. This is a gold mine channel🎉
