Leuk weer! Met lekker weer! Verrassende deelname AJ in de Limo QV! Dat vierde wiel achter lijkt me best fijn in die ene rare, bijna haakse bocht met heg. Ik moest werken én mijn DF XL is even in Dronten voor plakwerkzaamheden. Weer een prima videoverslag, ik vind de opname van de nabespreking van fietsers ook erg goed! Nice weather and again: naaais! Surprising participation of AJ in the Limo QV! That fourth wheel at the back seems quite nice to me in that one strange, almost perpendicular bend with a hedge. I had to work and my DF XL is in Dronten for some patching work. Another great video report, I also really like the recording of the cyclists' debriefing!

Je kunt je velomobiel tas aan de andere kant onder je fiets leggen AJ. Dan kan je precies je band oppompen met de lengte van de slang. (ervarings deskundige in lekke banden 😂😂).

Nice and fast ride gentlemen! I was wondering which long tunnel you took? Our trip to Vlissingen and then UK in August I planned through the Benelux tunnel, better than that ferry I guess. And this is promising for the OBT this year! CU somewhere!

The tunnel is the Heinenoordtunnel, between Heinenoord (duh) and Barendrecht. Mind you, officially you should take the other tube (behind the fences in the beginning and the end, on the right), but I've scared other cyclists there on multiple occasions so I don't like it so much. The tube we took is for slow motorized traffic (tractors, mopeds etc. and I believe the bus also drives there), but with a fast velomobile it's fairly easy to ride 45 km/h average through the tunnel so in my opinion it's a safer option than to go through the cyclist tube. Concerning your ride between Vlissingen and UK... here's the most efficient route for the largest portion ;) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWTTkJKDnd9qjtk Throw a post on ligfietsforum.nl and I'll get you a GPX for the parts I know well.

Thank you! Via the Fietsersbond Routeplanner I made a route via the Benelux Tunnel, and the section for "slow" traffic. Heinenoord is bit too far east, we are taking the western route via the bridges and dams. I'll post on the forum so we can exchange routs!

That is how it seems; in fact the velomobiles turn out to be quite a bit faster. When I ride with the unfaired recumbents in the velodrome I pass them constantly. Best speed here was 62 km/h on fastest round in a velomobile. In 45 minutes the 7 velonauts managed to ride 152 to 170 rounds, on average I would say 160. Unfaired two-weeled recumbents: 88 to 137 rounds in 45 minutes and best speed 51 km/h.

Thanks for your nice comment, Arjen. I don't have competition experience. I wouldn't be as fast as you in the Arena. It is quite a different experience than street rides. But I want to join for sure Aldenhoven at least once to get some experience. Aldenhoven has quite a large space for overtaking, etc. Maybe it's better for me to try first to get some experience in a large area like Aldenhoven.

@@ht_lifestyle Yes, Aldenhoven was also for me my first race. Biked the day before to Roermond, and on racing day to circuit. I had no race-hood and no Hosen on, and the competition there is very tough with German young & strong riders. But: lots of space, which makes it a bit more relaxed. You miss out on riding higher on the banks as curves are not so sharp there. This was my fourth race counting Aldenhoven. Ymte has a lot of experience, as you can hear in your video. Actually, this was my most fun ride as a little luck (overtaking and escaping at the right moment from 29:30) and pushing one round very very hard got me ahead. Thanks again for this great souvenir recording! I noticed you clocked 83 km/h on the narrow bike-path descending on Amersfoortseweg from Apeldoorn heading back home. I think you have a KOM there!

tja die zag de ruimte die je overliet voor zicht en remweg als van dat moet ik hebben en dat terwijl je toch echt de snelheidslimiet reed. Maar wat zal die gebaald hebben dat hij met zijn auto 40 tot minder in een 50 gebied moest rijden terwijl jij gewoon het fietspad op kon en iedereen voorbij gaat.

If you consider the fact that I was also doing well over 50 km/h when you were waiting for me at 49:00, it really shows how long it takes you to actually lose all that speed again :)
