Imagine March 2023, 40 years later, it came back 😮

I lived off Franklin avenue and 110 area. I remember a powerful storm cause the window double doors in our apartment blew open a couple of times. My brother would keep impersonating the lady from Poltergeist and say "Go Towards the Light!". There were no sirens and we did not watch the news. Only discovered later what it was. I live in TX now. Tornadoes are definitely a part of my observations. 🌪

He is right it will happen again. Tornadoes have struck in every state (even Alaska and Hawaii) and will continue to occur in unusual places with more power and frequency due to climate change. Seasons don't matter either as there are more and more destructive tornadoes occurring during fall and winter.

9 was the number of tornadoes in 83. There were 0 fatalities
@EerierFish17 Жыл бұрын
No, 9 was the actual death toll but is wasn’t caused by the tornado. It was caused by the overall storm system I’m pretty sure

@@EerierFish17 I believe you're right. Accuracy in reporting is not as important as views! It's the same as when a Derecho or powerful straight-line winds, like from a microburst are reported as a tornado or described as tornado-like winds. Straight-line winds aren't as scary sounding as tornado-like winds!

How can we say how much the forestry practices contribute so much to increase in numbers and intensity of wildfires when we've been using the same protocol for centuries? Doesn't it seem like the primary contribution, currently, is climate change? Forestry practices would not have as much impact if not for climate change.

God does, beyond that we all do the best we can giving long range forecasts but they are still inaccurate many times.

Great and informative video with impeccable audio and visual qualities. Lots of substance as well - certainly getting to the bottom of why Southern California was largely unscathed by this El Nino's effects. Nice appearances by Bill Patzert and our own beloved San Diego NWS meteorologist, Alex Tardy. Good job!

Just try to be ready for big storms. What else can you do?
@anthonyyanezweather9 жыл бұрын
+paxrail Exactly! But a lot of people, especially in southern California don't have flood insurance, haven't cleaned out rain gutters and don't clear out storm drains. So this is a good reminder that after four years of drought we can flood.
