Remember to have patience, try not to walk right up to your set. Stay back to where you can make sure the trap is still set and keep walking😊

If you see trap dug up again check 4 corners of trap see if it wobbles. And dont wear the gloves you put trap in with to put bait in. Will get smell on traps cause them to dig down. Hope that helps

I usually do my bait holes 12-16 inches deep. Shallow holes get robbed

Don't make your set quite so big, you want your trap to sit tight in the space. Look at a cookie cutter, they're great. Also just from experience with thier product, check out the lures from Hoosier Trapper Outdoors, they have some if the best I've used. Good luck!

If you cant get drill deep enough use your stake driver pound a deeper hole

Hope you get one. I usually make trap hole just big enough for trap to fit. Sets up tighter

I think you're doing a great job buddy but if you are going to lure the dogproofs just lay the stick by the trap instead of throwing it? Wishing you the best of luck and love your videos! Good luck with everything my friend!

Not sure exactly where you’re trapping but I think you’re near me. I’m in iowa falls. Me and my son trapped for about a week with dog proofs probably caught over a hundred. Just stopped because we really just were doing it for fun and it’s a lot of work. But there is definitely a lot of good area around here that I didn’t even go to. I think like you said the area you are trapping is too open you might catch one random coon coming through but with the corn picked the activity will go way down in those areas. Good luck on the rest of your season

I accidentally caught myself last year while putting the bait in the dirt hole, I lost my balance and I didn’t want to land on my backing, so I put my hand down, and my fingertip caught in the trap, and when I say that finger was swollen.. it was the size of a golf ball almost, and it hurt pretty bad

Gotta applaud spending time our with man's best friend, but get yourself the appropriate dog for the activity at hand. Also not smart to put a video of you breaking the law on the internet. (assuming youre standing on the road and not your driveway as you fired the shotgun)

@CentralIowaTrapping Not trying to be some internet complainer, video is awesome. I looked into it further and I apologize, you were correct! ....I've never seen a reg. that is worded in such a way, it more often then not says 50 feet each way from centerline of roadway with any firearm.

Well you're using a mossberg shotgun 1st mistake, 2nd a German Shepherd isn't a bird dog...might like to retrieve toys & balls, but birds are totally different. Next time try a red Ryder bb gun & chihuahua. Good luck.
