Hey man, I had a question about carrying my hunting rifle in my truck so for after work I can just head out instead of coming back to the house. If I have a soft rifle case, and I sling it underneath my truck's backseat in the "storage compartment" (F150) but it has no lock on it, is that fine when driving around? It's a designated storage compartment, but it just doesn't have a lock or fastener. I appreciate all the info man.

I have been running big dots since the early 90s and for a defensive gun there is nothing better, I have XS on all of my defensive firearms including stripes on a couple of rifles and a big dot on my 870, but when it came time to add some tritium sights to my AR pistol I discovered that they make big dot replacement sight posts that fit any standard AR post, mine are on MBUS flip-ups, it is amazing how fast and easy to get on target and make accurate hits with them.

Good information to know! I travel from NC to right over the SC line to do a job once a week and I’ve always thought NC laws and SC laws were the same. Luckily I never had an issue before the new law was passed. In NC we can pretty much have any firearm as long as it is in plain view without a permit in and out of a vehicle. It’s extremely common to see people walking around with holstered handguns.

Always let them know. If your a law abiding citizen you have nothing to hide. The new law is also confusing the way it is worded. It says, "there are no restrictions on guns in vehicles guns can be stored anywhere in vehicle open or consealed". Is that any firearm? Or just handguns?
@taktikalsanta3 ай бұрын
This is how they classify that. I don't have the actual code number but this is the wording. ▪"Concealed weapon" means a firearm having a length of less than 12 inches measured along its greatest dimension that must be carried in a manner that is hidden from public view in normal wear of clothing or in a vehicle except when needed for self-defense, defense of others.
@tomnape283 ай бұрын
@taktikalsanta yes consealed weapon. But they say there are no restrictions on guns in vehicles, guns can be stored openly or consealed. So by that wording, It sounds like if the gun is over 12 inches it can be loaded inside vehicle openly
@taktikalsanta3 ай бұрын
@tomnape28 with gun they mean concealable weapon measuring 12 in or less. Long guns can be in the vehicle but transported in the luggage compartment in a container with an integral fastner. The wording is confusing just like most laws. I do have another video discussing long guns in the vehicle that I go more in-depth. Trust me I know it's frustrating but I have discussed this with SLED and even a self defense attorney and they all come back to the definition of concealable weapon even though some wording says gun. Essentially they are implying gun means concealable weapon.

Thanks for your videos, and the time, efforts, and expenses…. Also, I’d like to mention the importance of placing the hands in plain sight (like hold the steering wheel) and not moving them, then letting the cop know you have a gun, and still not moving your hands. I’d ask what the cop wants me to do next. It doesn’t hurt me to help keep things from getting all worse. And for acting like a jerk, I learned long ago that being a jerk can cause me a lot of unnecessary problems. My parents explained that real early in life - don’t be rude to Mom, Dad, Grandparents, etc…. Teachers, coaches, bosses, and others all pretty much explained the same thing as I got older. If I was having a bad day, maybe I needed to be reminded….. I just don’t want to be that guy - and do something stupid to get fired or handcuffed or whatever. Thank you again, and for what it’s worth.

Yes. The way SC has done it is anyone in the state of SC whether living, vacationing, or passing through can carry under the new constitutional carry. But be careful because other constitutional carry states are not set up like that.

Argument for Removing Machine Guns from the National Firearms Act: Title: Bridging the Gap Between Civilian and Military Firearms: Restoring Equal Access to Firearms. Introduction: The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, stating, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." When the Second Amendment was written, the founders intended for Americans to have access to the same firearms that the military utilized, fostering a well-regulated militia. Removing machine guns from the National Firearms Act (NFA) would help restore this balance between civilian and military firearms, thus aligning with the original intent of the Second Amendment. Argument: 1. Historical context: The Second Amendment was written during a time when the United States had a standing army, but also relied on citizen-soldiers to form militias. The founders believed that by providing citizens with access to the same firearms as the military, they could create a well-regulated militia to defend against potential threats. Removing machine guns from the NFA would help restore this balance, ensuring that citizens have equal access to firearms as those used by the military. 2. Technology advancements: Since the time of the Second Amendment's writing, firearms technology has advanced significantly. Machine guns, in particular, have become more accessible and affordable, creating a divide between the firearms available to the average citizen and those used by the military. By removing machine guns from the NFA, we can help close this gap and align civilian firearms with those used by the military, as intended by the founders. 3. Equal protection under the law: The NFA currently restricts access to machine guns, creating a disparity between the firearms available to the general public and those used by the military or law enforcement. Removing machine guns from the NFA would ensure that all Americans have equal access to firearms, in line with the Second Amendment's intent. 4. Nothing will change: Citizens who possess machine guns would be subject to the same regulations and background checks as those with other firearms. 5. Enhancing national security: Removing machine guns from the NFA and allowing law-abiding citizens access to these firearms can contribute to a more informed and prepared citizenry. In the event of a national emergency or invasion, a well-regulated militia with access to a diverse range of firearms, including machine guns, would be better equipped to defend the nation. Conclusion: Removing machine guns from the NFA would help restore the balance between civilian and military firearms, aligning with the original intent of the Second Amendment. This change would promote equal access to firearms, enhance national security. By doing so, we can better honor the vision of the founders and preserve the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
