This is just what I needed to watch. Every so often something comes along and snaps me back into what's important. Thank you for this.

I'm grateful for this documentary and also for the translation work that Mr. Porter has done. Like someone said in the film, it really is a great service. Also I really dig the aesthetic choices made by (I'm assuming) the director. The use of prime lenses and the exclusion of effects really helped bringing the subtle atmosphere of the mountains to the forefront for me. Thank you. 🙏
Tremendous effort by Bill & his crew to produce this documentary for the world to know these unique group of hermits staying in the mountains. Thank you !
Donation @ 17:18, very nice ! Great documentary, thank you. Splendid mountain range and practitioners there .
A beautifully paced film in which the film's style reflects many of the contributors values and way off life. Bill Porter has done us all a great service in showing these people's lives. For those of us who do not live in or visit China, it is so heartening to see that Buddhist and Daoist hermits and monks still exist in modern China. They are part of humanity and have contributed so much to the wisdom and life of all on this planet, long may they continue.

Exquisite videography, geography and talks with the wise hermits. This is a bad observation but I was disturbed how Bill took the flower at 1:00: 13 and then so non-mindfully threw it aside as the hermit's door opened.
No man is free unless he is alone. Da best is the deep stillness in which I live and grow against the world, and harvest what they cannot take from me with sword and fire. Do not let the world turn me into ice for I am your fire.
