The Ones Dreaming My sleepless nights aren't white1, Scarcely scattered of stars. Little holes in the watertight canvas, Sad strata on the cloak. And I, bewitched of darkness, I spend infinite hours Counting funeral sheep Which upholster my insomnia. Ah, midnight is there. Ah, I'm not sleeping. And less I sleep and more I'm thinking, and more I'm thinking and less I forget. Vast impasse, immense space Which extend at the end of my bed. All these silences are unheard-of, How this boredom is immense2. Should I resort to the science ? Anaesthetise insomnia ? Ah, midnight is there. Ah, I'm not sleeping. And past midnight I'm dancing At the tachycardia3 pace And everything got carried away and everything is swinging And I'm spread by everything and I'm fled by everything. Moon is a little rancid fruit, Life is a sickness. he ones dreaming are at least lucky, And the others got sleeplessness. The ones dreaming are at least lucky, And the others got insomnia. Only Duolingo isn't enough though. I finished the tree in a year without any previous knowledge and I can fully understand this song. (You must know that this song has pretty basic words by the way.) But I also watched French shows and movies with first English, then French subtitles. Now I can watch and listen French content without any translations. As well as this might be a great encouragement for you, it might not work at all. Because I personally learned English without even noticing. I'm Turkish and I discovered I can understand and speak English perfectly when I was 9 years old :D Still, for the average person with sufficent determination, it should only take a bit longer. (I don't mean to say I'm superior but trying to share my experience. Every human being is critical in building the tomorrow and is special in my opinion.)

Angeline Philo goodluck with your studies. I would recommend you focus on formal studies and watching some French KZbinrs, reading the comments on French songs and videos is very helpful as well, But be carful with modern French songs since the grammar is all messed up for the sake of it sounding nice. The most important thing is watching French youtubers since they speak the real French that’s used daily.

Translation in English: My sleepless nights are not white Barely sparse with stars Small holes in the waterproof canvas Sad rhinestones on the veil And me bewitched by the darkness I spend endless hours Counting the funeral sheep That line my insomnia Ah Ah Midnight is here Ah Ah I do not sleep And the less I sleep, the more I think And the more I think and the less I forget The immense dead end, the immense space Who are waiting at the bottom of my bed It's incredible all this silence That it is cosmic, this boredom Should I resort to science? Anesthetize insomnia Ah Ah Midnight is here Ah Ah I do not sleep And then after midnight I dance At the rate of tachycardias And everything gets carried away and everything swings And everything spreads me out and everything flees from me The moon is a little rancid fruit Life is a disease Those who dream are very lucky And the others have insomnia Those who dream are very lucky And the others have insomnia Those who dream are very lucky As for me, I have insomnia Ah Ah Midnight is here Ah Ah I do not sleep Ah Ah Midnight is here Ah Ah

French sounds so slippery. The words sound like they'll slip outta your face if you don't consciously hold it shut.
@mipali9564 жыл бұрын
That’s the beauty of French ! It’s so smooth and flows nicely. This song is actually easy to listen to and understand ! Daily spoken French makes it like every sentence is just three words, the words blend into each other. that’s why listening is the hardest aspect of French compared to reading, writing and speaking which are a piece of cake if your English is good imo
@anyavasudev3974 жыл бұрын
Mip Ali and when i talk in english it doesn’t flow nicely and i take weird breaths
@mipali9564 жыл бұрын
Anya Vasudev French is a special case where fluent speech flows so smoothly unlike English which is still smooth but not as much. if English isn’t your mother tongue then that’s totally normal. It also depends on your original language because it can severely affect your pronunciation of other languages. I grew up speaking English, French and Arabic so I have a pretty good range of sounds that I’m able to use so I can speak other languages easily as long as they’re not heavy or have specific nuanced sounds like Chinese and Vietnamese. I’m currently learning Japanese and Turkish and so far I haven’t had any problems with pronunciation
@ebsfxxedits10384 жыл бұрын
Mip Ali my first language is English and I take breaks. I think it also comes down to introversion..
@mipali9564 жыл бұрын
Ebby Arts that’s totally okay !! You have to keep in mind that not everyone is a natural public speaker. Introversion def has something to do with it, because if you don’t have long in depth conversations very often then your abilities will take a dip in some aspects. I for example am extremely introverted and it shows in my speech where I only say half of the word and the rest is just weird noises that resemble speech lol so don’t worry about it but if it bothers you then just read something out loud daily or try having more conversations
