@@Gioxtream I'll just give one, but I know it's one people give flack for because of their declining revenue so it's a riskier bet compared to the usual choices. I have been buying a lot of IBM in November (Avg cost ~119). They are a huge B2B company with an already well established pipeline of customers. The RedHat purchase will help them in the cloud services which is what a lot of businesses want right now. Currently the cloud is dominated by Amazon, but it could change if the B2B monster that is IBM gets into the game with the added help of RedHat. They also are also getting into quantum computers and blockchain (I don't care about bitcoin, I do like blockchain). These are the main sources of growth for the already established large company going forward. It's a riskier one, but I'm happy with my current averaged price at ~119.

@bretmaki21105 жыл бұрын
Arthur, if you must go for day trading, you gotta learn a very good strategy to embrace the market, or else you're bound to loss everything. Investment in stocks is best on long terms. However, you can save yourself the stress and hire a manager to take care of that. He can diversify your funds if need be. TD Ameritrade has got high fees. If you'd want to switch, you rather go for Lumentrades. Lower fees $0.50 per trade. Nice charts and all that. You should check it out.

Being an individual stock trader you should be making at last 3-5% a week even if you have just basic knowledge of the stock market and very little to no experience trading. You should be able to make at least 15-20% increase each month alone. If you’re not afraid of working 2-3 hours a day on literally buying stock to sell the next day you should have no problem being a millionaire Within 3 years starting with nothing I started with $10 and I plan on being at a quarter of a million next year after taxes.

I have a difficult question, but would like to see opinions on the answer. I have a value investor strategy so i have a watchlist and i only buy stocks that give me a minimium annual rate of return of 15%. I also have a 50% margin of safety so if that price is say $100 I buy at $50. My question is with no leverage when I get 15% should I let the stock keep going or sell and take my 15% and reinvest in another stock (or same stock if it is still in the buying window at that time) Bare in mind that I will then only buy stocks that are in the above buying window. If no stocks are in that window I keep cash until they are. Basically forcing you to buy low, sell high. Im thinking more long term investing, but wonder if the above idea would work better than just buy and hold, and add everytime the market drops and the stock goes back into the buying window, as I will increase the number of shares I then own, but lose my gains of the stock when it drops rather than "banking" the gains when it hits 15%

Becoming a millionaire in the stock market is very possible even if you're in your 50s. It comes down to how long you will live and having the discipline to sit through major market swings. If you're investing $2,000 per month, which is doable if you have a decent income and keep your living expenses fairly modest, you can expect to hit your $1 million dollar mark within 15-20 years. It's actually probably harder to reach the $100,000 mark because of the mental barrier of still being new to investing when you're first starting out.

Age has nothing to do with it! Depends on if you want to invest or be a day trader. You can start day trading with as little as $500. But you gotta put in the time and practice by trading in a simulator. As an investor you can do it also, swing trading if you take the time do all your research on a particular stock and sector that stock is in. Now only having a small amount saved to invest, limiting the shares you can buy and holding a stock for a year or multiple years you’ll only make 5-10 percent return and then I agree you won’t become a millionaire that way.

Jeremy what do you think about calamos funds? Closed end mutual funds that pay ~10% annual dividends, are they safe?
@giffy79625 жыл бұрын
You can use a site called cefconnect to check out the fund's basics and what it has investments in. Typically CEFs use leverage to get that kind of dividend pay out but some dont so the non leveraged ones will survive a lot better in a down turn. As long as the assets it owns can produce the dividends they're safe but as soon as something bad happens you should expect a dividend cut but even if they cut it the yield could still be pretty attractive. CEFs are actively managed so you could reasonably expect the managers to do everything they can to keep producing those dividends.

Inflation averages 2-3% per year. I believe it’s been much higher the past couple years and will continue to do so as the fed prints it’s way out of the next recession.A million dollars 25 years from now will be worth half of what it is today. Also a million dollars is not a lot of money even today. What matters is the true purchasing power of your money, not the nominal figure in your account
@jannemyllyla12235 жыл бұрын
It depends on life expectancy. 20 years of 1400 / month comes close to 1M. With some lady luck involved it could happen in 10-15 years so change for 50 or 60-year-old is much higher than 1%.
