Must be nice being rich. I build houses for a living. Alot of stress doing what I do. I definitely don't get paid enough to own cars like these!! I'm a general contractor and scratch my head to as why nobody working trying to have it easy!! Im actually sick of social media!!! I say get a real job and stop paying them so much. A house is way way more enjoyable then something shot with a video camera!! We got our priorities backwards!! Hopefully this shiiii stops. Try building a house?! And get paid not as much as I should. Fun to watch. I had my parents 4 door '72 Nova with the straight 6 cylinder 2 speed 110 hp with E78-14 bias tites with moon caps.. I drove it to Tenn. to attend college in 1978. With 36K miles on it, I drove it thru college and working at the local USA Today site in Nashville and the Tennessean newspaper, I finally purchased a 1971 Nova also green, black vinyl top, 350 V8 with 245 hp, 350 powerglide floor shift all Black interior with buckets as the Chevelle had, for $2,000, I injoyed the power for a while. I was not. Able to add to it or rebuild it. I sold it in 1997. I will always dream of a fresh early Nova with too much power. Now at 64, it's just fun to watch what folks have done with my dream car!!!

To be able to cruise in a car with almost 2k hp is an under appreciated feat. Tuned cars approaching 1k become very twitchy. This took a lot of effort on the part of the engineers and tuners

Being electric definitely helps, because with inverter driven electric motors torque can be controlled directly regardless of speed. I'm sure it's still not trivial, but I know it would have been harder on a traditional car.

@DataLog Жыл бұрын
@@GuyFromJupiter The biggest problem with fine tuning electric motors is electromagnetic flux. It also wants to make the motor jerky and mushy (unresponsive) because electricity can instantly rush through the rotors and energize them, but can't get out immediately because it's stored as electromagnetic flux. Also, starting such a motor without jerking is difficult for the same reason, electricity rushes in (before it starts turning), primes it with electromagnetic flux and as soon as it makes a first move, there is already a ton of potential energy stored within. I know this because It is very difficult to work with strong motors that move telescope domes, and fine tuning them is a pain in the ass.

As a kid, my sisters boyfriend had a convertible Mustang! Since 1999, I have been driving stock and worked on ponies. Had a stage 2 Supercharged convertible with a fake cosmetic role bar. I knew that car was fast for Buffalo, but now, in SW Florida, they are a dime a dozen. My current ride is... you bet a Mustang with that beautiful Coyote engine. I started with Rousch True Air Induction System paired with custom x pipe, and Long tube Headers, topped off with Outlaw Series Exuast System from Flowmaster with a tune. The headers are from American Muscle, and with the air and exhaust I bet with those two bolt ones plus a tune would be faster than the 08 Stage 2 Supercharged car. That's how far we have come! Car guys are some of the nicest people I have met. The short is good! Tell me what you drive and what is your dream car or cars are! The new 70SS , and the Corvette have a mind-blowing HP! If they did not exist I would take the GTD but only if you paid for it! How come Ford come up lame again with only 800 HP? The Dark Horse is not worth it. 68g's for what? In their short they always show the instrumentation panel getting excited that you can make it look like a Fox Body cluster? And this rev key, and different sounds when it starts is so lame! 68 for a bloated GT. Save your money, buy a used GT, and you can put your own Supercharger or TURBO with the money your saving. Ford is lacking vision. It does not matter to me what you drive as long as you love it

Has to be asked with all these ultra fast accelerating electric cars, but is the drivetrain going to withstand this for long? Even on lesser electric vehicles. Genuinely curious how they've beefed things up to cope with that torque

True. I had that same issue on my RD350 2 stroke bike. It was a bloody wheelie machine after all the work (Typical crazy RD build. head work, port work, pipe work, tweaks and twiddles, clutch work so it wouldn't slip anymore, etc) and even though it wouldn't really slip the back, it chewed it up insanely fast. Like, fast enough I started buying that tire they made at the time that had the hard compound in the middle because I got tired of changing tires. :) I can't imagine how fast stuff like these cars would go through tires if you're a tad happy with the fun time pedal.

@@Hose-A You obviously didn't get the cynicism in my comment. A top fuelled drag car is a car and is faster... The fastest normally aspirated car in the world with a manual gearbox is the McLaren F1 - basically anyone can make an argument out of anything, but obviously there was a little something at the back of your mind that said, I know my comment is off topic, but lets make it anyway - Happy to continue if you think that the McMurtry Speiling is the faster - clarify please? 0-60 back to 0 or 1/4 mile or around a track or just around Goodwood. Fastest one seater, or battery operated. Please, do elaborate.
@Hose-A7 ай бұрын
@@anesennaidoo5279 a Lockheed SR71 is not a car. The Rimac Nevera and The McMurtry Speiling are both production cars. The McMurtry is faster in both the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile time. Therefore the video title is a lie.

It’s not the fastest car with a 0-60 time. The Mcmurty has it licked in at 1.4 seconds as appose to the Nevera at 1.74 seconds but if you want to get technical about it Top Fuel Dragsters 0-100 MPH is under 0.8 seconds so good old internal combustion still wins over EVs.

@@Fazorplays as much as I want internal combustion to be king, the The McMurtry Spéirling Pure is a production car and it’s 0 - 60 is under 1.5 seconds so it has the Dodge demon licked on that I’m afraid. There’s more to cars than outright acceleration. We have 5 senses that engage our brains with our environment… that being said, I hands down would take something like a Porsche GT3 or any EV super car. I could listen to that amazing 4.0L flat 6 all day long…. hard acceleration or downshifting… it’s just an amazing symphony of sounds that engages a driver with the vehicles they are driving. EVs might be quick…. But that sound coming from a gas engine is something you just can’t replace with a battery. IMO.

I must admit, that since driving the Tesla Plaid, I don't really think the 0-60 times are going lower, unless we get some other tires. The plaid really struggles to put down it's power (So does the Model 3 Performance.) Besides that I miss my old Bimmer and that was a measly 4,5 sec 0-60!!
