A lot is made about Ronaldo being such a nice guy and caring about people who he might never meet, but in my opinion it is just poppycock and twaddle, the number of times he has made rude gestures and spoken to the opposition players with disrespect and contempt is horrendous, and to think that he is a “Role Model” to the younger generations he makes me sick, all he really cares about is maintaining his image to ensure he can keep playing at the highest level in football which in turn keeps him filthy rich which reinforces his ego to the point where he feels invulnerable to anyone or anything else. The trouble with football at the moment is that the players are paid way way to much and that leads them to become arrogant and selfish, they are made to feel that they are better than anyone else, not just in football, but in terms of social and celebrity status and that leads to the “acting” which is so prevalent and pathetic to see in grown men and sometimes the women, but in reality they are just normal people who just happen to play a game well, perhaps the football authorities should introduce a sin bin punishment for the playacting and other breaches of the rules, feigning injury, wasting time, back chatting the referee’s and officials to name a few things that could potentially get them into the sin bin, and some form of financial penalty for every time they are sent to the bin or sent off, that way they might learn to behave like adults and not two year olds who throw their teddies out of the cot.
