stuart ringing the great peter 11 tons bell which is rung normally every day at 12 noon each day for five mins same as the big 10 tons bell in maltiz in the mounument bell tower the other church is st lawrences with a peal of 8 bells outside york city centre a thinish tall tower with a spire 1 white clock face on 1 side only there is a little bell tower in the church yard but all bricked up its not a church bell tower no by stuart mills enjoye good luck

I used to sit in the Minster. When I was homeless. Now I ring bells. And pause clocks! One day, if I get to ring at the Minster, I'll be happy.

It's pretty much of a workout of trying to ring the heaviest bell, it may take a minute when the clapper strikes the heaviest bell but all you have to do is to keep pulling the rope until the clapper has strike the bell. I know it's pretty exhausting but you'll have to work it out.

Your right it would be exhausting but it isn't the heaviest bell in the UK. The heaviest is great Paul which weighs 16 tonnes. The next is great George in Liverpool cathedral at 14 tonnes.

The bell is 10 tons and is counterbalanced. So once it is swinging like a pendulum it takes a while for it to stop.
