No doubt he had a solid education from the Iranian secondary and university systems!! Very few American undergrads know the meaning of determinant. For your information, two Iranian mathematicians had won the Fields medals in the past!!

Sticking to the rule that current flow is from higher to lower potential like a higher dam to lower dam. Let's stick with the fundamental here.
