I honestly feel like the writers forgot about Malprave at the final scene. Because she activated the self destruct sequence, so why wasn't she already gone? Bond didn't stall her, Bond didn't lock her in, She just stayed there... because... She basically killed herself by being stupid or just unlucky. For a main villain, she had a very Boris death. Y'know the kind where Bond had almost nothing to do with it, shit just happens.

I remember being stuck on this mission for AGES on the original Xbox - couldn't figure out the very ending that there was a rocket launcher on the ground to shoot him out the window - after years of owning it on the xbox on trying periodically discovering this made me feel like such a BA. Agent Under fire wasn't a terrible game, but looking back at it now, it feels more like it was almost a tech demo rather than a full-fledged game. If I'm not mistaken, it was among the first small handful of game attempts at making an original Bond game storyline not based on a movie, but the game was incredibly short, and shockingly easy. I think Agent Under Fire was the only Bond game where I was able to get all the unlocks as a kid without any troubles, meanwhile, I was still struggling to reach par-times for Goldeneye 007 and even The World Is Not Enough. As far as complexity, I think the latter did a better job of succeeding gameplay mechanics, like alternate fire modes, and gadgets and whatnot. At least until the next game came out. They definitely learned though, since Nightfire was pretty great. I have no idea what they were thinking with the PC version though, I've seen gameplay of it, and GoldSrc was a really bad choice, really sucks they didn't just port the same game the consoles got. In general it sucks that EA never gave us ports of their older Bond games.

Addon: Also at 9:31, an example of a missed opportunity for a final battle. Bond fights Malprave as her entire operation blows up around them. But instead, Bond just jumps out while she gets caught in the explosion and the final battle is a battle with the henchman instead. Still, the game is good. No doubt.

A useful glitch you can perform (It works on PS2 but probably GC too) to get an easy gold medal in this mission: at the beginning when you make it to the top of the tower to use your Q remote on the panel, you get a bond move for it. But...you can constantly keep using it on the panel to give yourself an infinite amount of them!

I grew up playing Bond games most of the time, so when I opened my channel I started with GE64 as it was the first game I remember playing. After that, my channel pretty much got into the niche of Bond playthroughs and community so I just kept going with the rest. I sometimes stream different stuff unrelated to Bond, but for now the main series are somehow related to either Bond or the original developers of GE and PD.

I have mixed opinions on this game. It's a childhood staple of mine yet I found the final mission so underwhelming. Bond villains usually meet a theatrical end but with Malprave, she just gets randomly blown up because she couldn't be bothered to get out of her factory before it blew up. And she's the one who initiated the self-destruct sequence...what the hell did she think was going to happen? The plot of this game was weird af too (like how the hell did she manage to abduct all the major world leaders? Lol). Fantastic playthrough though; watching your channel is like being 8 years old again and playing these games :)

This video game was originally supposed to be the PS2 version of _The World Is Not Enough._ After a series of delays it was cancelled and many of its assets were repurposed for _Agent Under Fire_ - and it shows. Many of the characters are obviously thinly veiled reskins of the character models from TWINE; the submarine bays were obviously intended for the level in which Bond boards the sub; Forbidden Depths was originally supposed to be a level based on the scene when Bond and Christmas Jones travel through the oil pipeline to stop the nuke, and so on. But where the game suffers the most is that the story feels incomplete, almost like I'm playing a video game tie-in for a movie that I need to watch in order to get the full context. It also doesn't help that they couldn't get Pierce Brosnan and John Cleese to provide the likenesses for their respective character models and some of the level designs seem too sci-fi for James Bond.

They seriously need to retool the plot. But if they were to ever revisit it, there's so much you could do with a cloning plot line. Imagine a storyline where Bond was captured in the first few levels, but in the final level, he has to face is most adversarial foe yet -- himself!

Thinking about it, doesn't Bond use a Q-Jet in Fire and Water? He doesn't seem to have it in Poseidon, so it might've simply gotten lost on his descent. It did seem like there was some (small) time between Poseidon and Mediterranean Crisis, and Mediterranean Crisis to Evil Summit, so Real!Bloch could've just picked up Bond's old Q-Jet while Bond and Zoe recoup'd between missions. Yes, I'm wrapping my brain around a plot hole.

I don't know what happened to the actual shooting in spy FPSs. They were great on the N64, with Perfect Dark being the pinnacle of the genre IMO. Then in the next generation, the quality dropped severely in terms of mechanics and sound. Even in TimeSplitters games, with some of the same people who worked on GE and PD, the shooting took a step back in some directions, such as the shotgun only being able to hit a single target even if a bunch of enemies are huddled together and you shoot from a distance. Often in GC/Xbox/PS2-era spy FPSs, aiming isn't smooth at all, guns don't feel powerful (this game in infamous for its egg bullets, and I'm seeing now that there's zero recoil), and the games generally aren't as well designed as N64 FPSs. Then there was the horrendous Perfect Dark Zero, which had some of the worst shooting I've ever experienced in an FPS in addition to throwing out almost everything that made the original great and replacing its realistic atmosphere with an overly goofy and cartoonish approach. Now the subgenre doesn't even exist anymore.

I think a better ending of this game would have been a boss fight with a clone of Bond rather than Bloch. And it would have been better if Malprave was the one to smash through the window at the end, because she was the main villain, and her death was super lame and anti-climatic.

From Russia With Love is a long requested game, but it's a bit flawed on emulator. I got to do an AUF playthrough so I'm sure FRWL is possible too even if I need to get some real hardware footage. Next game will either be FRWL, Perfect Dark on real N64 to follow my GE playthrough or an entirely new saga. We'll see!

While I enjoy this game alot, I'm not to fond of it's ending.. It really hurt the game in my opinion and It doesn't feel satisfying. I'm definitely not a fan of the cloning story either.. I hated the fact, nigel bloch that we work so hard to fight was a clone and not the real one.. It just ruins everything, we went through to get to him. I still think the game is fun, just not a fan of the story. Anyway, Great Job with this run Graslu00! I can't wait for the next playthrough!

I think that the Bloch that died in the lava should have been the real Bloch and the final battle should have been against a clone of James Bond. Malprave could have concocted a whole scheme to replace James Bond and sabotage MI6. After defeating the clone of James Bond, you take his rocket launcher and use it to shoot Malprave and it is her that crashes through the stain glass window and falls to her doom. THAT would have been the perfect ending in my opinion, and it honestly disappoints me whenever I play the final level because I think my ending is better haha.
