Kullanılmayan yöntemin belki de üstüne düşüp analiz ettiği tek ülke ve sınavda sorulan ülke bizizdir. Öğretmenleri bile rahat bırakmıyorlar , öğretmenlere aktif kullanılan yöntemleri öğretin , ben ne yapayım bu işe yaramaz yöntemi derinlemesine öğreniyorum ki, kpss de çıkar diye. Her şey sınav değil, mühim olan çocukları İngilizce konuşturabilmek. Bu yöntemde tek hoşuma giden düşündüm de hiçbir şey :D

@@busramesci6379 Ama hocam yalan mi dusunsenize sinifa giriyoruz silent way technique kullanacağız karar verdik. Vallaha bizim ogrenciler anında müdüre veya velilere öğretmenimiz ingilizce bilmiyor bizimle konuşmuyor diye şikayet ederler 😁 sırf sınav için öğrendigim gereksiz konulardan birisi.

Evet sınavda sorulması biraz saçma ancak her metotta elbet iyi birkaç teknik bulunuyor. O yüzden öğrenmekte fayda var bence, özellikle bir İngilizce öğretmen adayı olarak.

hocam çok teşekkürler çok güzel anlatıyorsunuz, arkadaşlarımın aksine ben saçma olduğunu düşünmüyorum her şeyi dönemine göre, o dönemin şartlarına göre değerlendirildiğini varsaydığımda bana mantıksız gelmiyor açıkcası.. Sonuçta her yeni method bir diğerini geliştirmeye yönelik olmuş bu da eğitime verilen değeri gösterir bence, hem öğretmenlikte bazen karma methodlar kullanmak gerekiyor yeri geliyor silent way yeri geliyor communicative way kullanılıyor o sebeple her öğretmenin bu methodları bilmesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum naçizane fikrimdir teşekkürler tekrardan :)

Hello! I’m so glad I found a video about The Silent Way in Turkish. Thank you very much! :) I love this method and your video gave me hope I could find a teacher who teaches Turkish using The Silent Way, even if they are just starting and/or don’t have the charts yet. Do you happen to know someone who would be interested in teaching Turkish TSW ? Or someone who would like to build the charts from zero with me if they don’t already exist ? Thank you again!!!

you don't really need the sound, word or fidel charts for learning Turkish actually. In Turkish, every letter has only one pronunciation unlike English, so all the words are pronunciated in the exact way they are spelled. so even if you build a chart, every o's will be the same color, as well as every e's, a's, i's and all the other letters.

Hi@@zulalmila4159, The charts are not only for learning pronunciation! The word charts are also very useful for grammar and essential vocabulary for example. Furthermore, Turkish has sounds and combinations of sounds that other languages don't necessarily have... and the sound chart is very useful for learning new sounds and practicing those! And also... don't forget that the letters you use to represent your sounds are not the same in other languages (take "c" for example in English x Turkish). Now, talking specifically about Turkish pronunciation, what you said is a widespread misconception... that every letter has only one pronunciation. And unfortunately, even a lot of teachers are not aware of that! Just to give you some examples: 1) the "e" sound in "ben" is not the same as in "turkçe", it's more open, almost like the "a" in "apple" to my ears; 2) the "a" in hala (aunt) and hala (still) are also different... I know you used to have "â", but it's not very much used anymore to my knowledge; (that'd give 2 different colours in the sound chart for example) 3) you don't pronounce the "ka" the same way in "kaç" and in "hikaye" (something like hikyaye); (so you'd have 2 colours for "ka" in kaç and 3 colours for "ka" in hikaya) 4) we could talk also about the different pronunciations of R depending on its position... (and on the speaker's accent I suppose). If we take the word "beraber" for example, the first R is more like a tap and the second one is more retroflex (and also unvoiced, which surprised me). They may sound the same for a native, because you ALREADY know how to make them and for you it may be "just an R sound", but they're not the same... that's hard to learn for a foreigner that speaks a language with a different logic for pronouncing the R... (if they have an R sound at all in their language). I'd love to learn well how to pronounce all those things and I'm convinced that Silent Way charts would be very useful!

@@enjoyablenglishlearning Hi Simge, in the word charts, we focus on words (or chunks of words) that are functional. These are useful to grasp the "essence of the language" - to describe temporal or spatial relationship for example. In a Turkish word chart, there could be suffixes like "-da" and "-de" for example. The purpose in the beginning would be to build sentences that describe real and true things in the classroom. You can use the cuisenaire rods explained in the video, because you won't have to memorize a lot of vocab in the beginning and focus on the functional words/particles. You won't give explicit rules for when to use "de" or "da"... but with the multiple examples, the student will understand that with "ev" he has to use "de" for example... and with "Istanbul" he has to use "da". Let me know if you'd like more example, I'm not sure if that was clear enough.
