It's my favourite line of this whole scene although I do have to admit I don't quite "get it". Is Craig talking about the actual lamb that he ate, or is it a cloaked reference to admitting that he has been thoroughly pwned by Green, without explicitly admitting defeat? The way I process it is as if she's asking "How's the burn?" and he's saying "It's there. One sympathises."

God I love how Bond dresses down Vesper in this scene. I also love how she gives as good as she gets and later they both prove each other wrong. Y'know, until she betrays him. Vesper Lynd is a perfect example of modern woman's predicament, without any bravado or cheap tactics to make her appear "strong" or "independent". One of the last great female characters in a male-oriented action film.

And they butchered what could've been a great, deep complex character that Bond recognizes Vesper in Severine in Skyfall.

This is one of my favourite movie scenes without any action in it. The dialogue is so well written as it gives a very tiny hint of James and Vespers mysterious and intriguing yet troubled backstory... Daniel and Eva play this scene perfectly. I memorized this great scene and always enjoy it when I re-watch this movie!!!

For all the car stunts, fights and shoot outs, its these , beautifully written, expertly delivered and edited sequences of dialogue that make 'bond' different. Eva is no Hollywood Barbie but a true beauty, Daniel a man even hetro men begrudgingly accept is attractive, the interplay intelligent and demanding. Top class cinema; thank-you.
