Hi! I am from Brazil. He is a former beggar that dresses this way and enters all churches in Brazil to see how they will treat him. To teach people not to be hipocritical anymore. To teach them that church is God's home, not theirs. And he has truly a beautiful and powerful voice to praise Lord. It has nothing to do with promote himself or the church he visits. It has nothing to do with a drunk pretending to be saved, to find the path. It has to do with showing hipocritical people. In the end of all his visits, he reveals his identity to all. He is also a pastor. You will see videos where he is not dressed like a beggar. That is it!

Not fake -- an illustration -- a testimony of the power of God. No one is beyond His power of forgiveness when asked. Perhaps this man's own testimony of how God saved him and delivered him from addiction. I once heard the testimony of a preacher who had led many people to the Lord on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, then was bound by sin himself and ended up destitute and sleeping in the gutters. But God is a God of redemption, if we but cry out to him for forgiveness, which this preacher did. I was so blessed to hear him preach about Jesus once again. I may have looked calm on the outside but I was dancing and praising God on the inside just like that little girl was in this video. God is so ooo amazing!

The idea behind it is good. it just was not genuine, which makes it false, they are in church so we will call it acting. but it is deception and close to lying, no? Churches are trying to sell their beliefs to begin with, maybe best to keep the shady acting away, some may think the whole thing is an act. to be honest i mostly got turned off after they started showing close ups of the audience and the 9 year old girl with her eyes closed and hands to the heavens in a trance is what turned me off. that's not realistic. seemed to me like there are more actors in this congregation than anything. of course this is all just how i see it. it seems like some people are receiving a positive message from the whole "show" so that's a good thing to take away from this.

No, Lenie, he was not "drunk" but was temporarily ACTING that way for a good reason. The "drunk beggar" is actually a famous Brazilian pastor who taught a lesson: Don't pre-judge or turn away from someone just because you think you know "who or what" they are. He did this as an ACT to show this very lesson.

Also, he reveals his identity to everyone in the end of his performance. I also thought he was a true beggar, but when I saw other revealing videos, I got to know a little better about him.

GrumpyMadman Well! I think that almost all beggars are sunk in alcohol. And by playing this role, he would face more difficult to be accepted. Help me in this thinking. Lots of pastors already know him when he enters the churches. But not many attendants. There is one video when the pastor doesn't know him and follows him everywhere thinking he could do any harm to the attendants. And maybe the title has to do with what I said before. Almost nobody in the beginning knows who he is. The person who posted the video might have thought he was really a beggar like many people who commented here.

Test their kindness. Show them that church is home to all God's children. Before the video ends, he asks everybody to hold their claps. He wants them to clap their hands to God, not him. It tears me up reading all the negative comments on this thread! Yes, it is true as the scriptures say that a drunkard will not enter into heaven, BUT, this may have been his moment of crying out to God in recognition of God's Almighty Power to deliver him from his pain and guilt! I bless the pastor for having wisdom in this situation to heed what may have been the Spirit's prompting to give this drunk an open floor at the Altar of The Holy One! I have been there myself and have felt the pain and guilt of my own sin and I will NEVER stand in the way of someone wanting AND NEEDING to pour his heart out to GOD! I will not stand in the place of condemning this man NOR the Pastors. This struck a core in the depths of my heart and soul. I grew up with a WINO and a DRUNKARD and know their ways!
