This reminds me of the Ferrer-Isner matchups. Ferrer ran around like he was at a gymnastics competition. If the court had walls he’d have bounced off ‘em. And he also won the majority of the matches. The returns were strong and steady so the server was under constant pressure. I miss watching these guys who breathe the heavier air, like myself.

Eubanks’ game isn’t quite as good as Isner’s at his peak. He went away fast in the 2nd and 3 rd set because he was tired. Your serve is the first thing to fall apart when your legs are tired. Currently, Eubanks is 24 years old and has only won 4 ATP tour level matches in his career. So, he is grinding away at the Challenger level and almost got into the top 100. He slipped down to 237 in March 2021. If he can build in more consistency he has a chance of breaking the top 100. Then it become a mental and fitness battle. I wish him well.

@@zifrowzifrow7767 Federer has set a good and bad example for this. Federer likes to hit it this way with his great forehand and quick enough to recover. Even with Federer, sometimes he is not able to recover to the forehand side. Only a handful players can hit high quality down the line backhand. Eubanks is not one of them. I'm old school, so I'm not crazy about how much the equipment gives the advantage to the server. Too many short points. Just my opinion... That being said... I think Sell did a great job returning Eubank's serve. Probably did get into his head some. Eubank's lost the match due to too many loose service games, I guess trying not to give Sell anything to hit? Eubank's ran around Sell's second serve a lot and had some great returns, but Sell started serving more second serves to his forehand which got him a number of easy/free points catching him moving the wrong way. Great match. Could easily have been much closer. Good mental fortitude to come back after losing that first set tiebreaker! Wish I had 1/2 the quickness and speed of either one of these guys!
