Learn how to find the magnitude of a vector given its x and y components. This is done by using the pythagorean theorem to find the length of the vector by squaring the sides of the vector components and taking the square root of the result.
The angle that the vector makes with the x-axis (the direction of the vector) is found by taking the inverse tangent of the y component divided by its x-component.

This was excellent! And I followed the math perfectly. But, what if one of the F values, say 12, was positive x at 45 degrees and another, say 18, was at 180 degrees. How do I express that angle? I was messing around with it and can’t seem to get an answer that matches my graph. Thanks, again!

It would be 138.3 degree from x-axis. and its magnitude is 12.75 and its x-component is -9.52 and y-component is 8.48 with an angle of 41.7 degree. if you want further explanation you can contact me through e-mail : mufakkirhussain@ymail.com

Oh man seriously even though I’ve never met you, please don’t do that. Please reach out to someone, anyone, to talk. No matter how dark things get, remember that you are unique and bring something unique to the world. In 1,000,000 years you and I will both be dead, and this comment and all these videos will be lost forever. But you have now. Now is real. Hang in there, please. Take care. Jason

CopperWater are you alive and kicking in 2021? Are you here? Don't give up hope. We all have our ups and downs, but hey, that's part of life. Everybody without exceptions have struggles. Life is a classroom where we get life experiences. We all go through bad experiences, have struggles, but they teach us many things and so we become better humans. No matter how difficult your studies, you just have to struggle, pull and make progress. Don't worry, mistakes are part of learning. You will get through, if you persist, and make progress.

so the correct answer is +45 degrees and not 135 ,correct? at 20:14
@MathAndScience
@MathAndScience 4 жыл бұрын
Not really. The "correct answer" can be expressed in two ways. It is 135 degrees measured counter clockwise from the positive x-axis, OR it is 45 degrees from the negative x-axis measured clockwise. It gets confusing and that is why you must draw a picture.
