it seems as if he's tuned to e in this song and he messes up and has to adjust, he messes up twice which leads me to believe he's tuned wrong especially at the end when he's playing regular chords.

So many of their songs from Downward is Heavenward were downtuned if not all, so they had to comprise the standard drop D of You'd Prefer an Astronaut. Shows what a hardworking band they are; relearned chords to give an authentic sound to their audience.

Rafael Cabral Williams That's not really true. Suicide Machine is played in standard, so are a few songs from E2k and If You Are To Bloom. The majority of their songs are in drop D, but there are others that are tuned to CGDGBE like Boy With Stick, The Scientists, and Inuit Promise I believe. TL;DR they tune pretty much across the board
