Thanks. I remembered to turn on the cursor highlighter about 11 minutes in to the video. That is the best I can do at this point. Happy computing!

sirji in HW Students version 2020 the Yellow nodes are not visible, can you help?
@mbarkey.mechanics3 жыл бұрын
I've seen an issue in Hypermesh 2019 in which the nodes do not appear on the screen. This makes it impossible to use Hypermesh effectively. Here is the fix: create a system variable HW_USE_OPENCL with a value of 0 forums.mbarkey.com/index.php?topic=222.0 see if that helps

Dear Dr. Barkey, Could you tell me how to translate *.odb file from Abaqus to *.op2 Nastran file for postprocessing, please? Thanks in advance. Esteban.
@mbarkey.mechanics5 жыл бұрын
Hi Oswaldo, I'm sorry, I do not know of a method to do that. There may be one, but it has been many years since I have used Nastran. You may have better luck writing an ABAQUS results file (*.fil) and then looking for a method of conversion. There are also scripting methods for extracting ODB results, but again, I am not familiar with the op2 file.

Dear Dr. Barkey, Thank you for the quick response! Finally, I could do that. It would be great if you could give me some advice about post-processing Abaqus results. I'm looking for software that allows me to plot 'solution-dependent state variables' used in UMAT because when I plot the contours of SDV's in Abaqus there are negative values that make no sense according to my model. Once again, thanks for your help.

I think your best option is still to use ABAQUS CAE directly. Are you sure that your UMAT is providing the correct information? Otherwise, I would think you could code your UMAT to write the appropriate debug information to a file or *.fil file, etc.

However, when I get a report file from the main menu bar (choosing the positions: at integration point, centroid and nodal) there are no negative values of density in those files. For that reason, I assumed that my UMAT has no errors. I'm a little confused by that.

how to make the nodes appear. I create nodes but they dont appear unless i put the numbering on. I'm not getting the yellow dot like u are

You might look in display options. It has been a while since I have made the video and I don't recall what panel that would be in. If I can, I will take a look later and update this reply.

how to open .inp files?
@mbarkey.mechanics7 жыл бұрын
.inp are text files. They can be large. I use Crimson Editor, something like notepad++ will also work.
@maazahmed35837 жыл бұрын
.inp is extension of abaqus FE file. u can import through solver deck in Hypermesh. or u can open in using textpad to see fe modal data.
