you can use any version of illustrator. I prefer the latest versino of the CC (Creative Cloud) where you get all Adobe software for one monthly price.

@@Boxels Oh thank you, why is CTA5 trial not working I tried installing it after it said trial expired it was my first time installing it I tried again with different gmails still the same thing but other packages are working like face mocap, etc I don't know what's wrong

You don't need to speed up anything it's a damn tutorial! It's supposed to be slow pace So that you can get everything out of it or as much as needed like squeezing a towel until all the water comes out it's completely dry that's the idea here!

I'm not a quickie guy and i agree to understand and learn complex and detailed animation it takes time and 40 minutes tutorial is nothing for perfect character animation like this but i have a request after this please also make tutorials for your kids channel type animations as for my youtube channel i also want quick and short animations to enhance user experience in my explainer channel videos so that would be a super help for me and all people wanting to make quick and little animations

Yes. That is 100% possible, I just have not needed to make it as of yet, for my needs, but absolutely possible.

Good job on the video! Can u pls tell me if there is a video on how to make splices from a photo, or split a character into groups like pants and shoes and stuff like that because i noticed if the caracter is not in pieces it will not work on the animation

hello um I have a question I want to use cartoon animator for my animations but im currently using a Mac at the moment and cartoon animator 5 isn't available on Mac what should do should I stick with version 4 or should I try to find a way to use version 5

depends on your needs. CTA4 works just fine on a mac, I've used it for hundreds of hours of animation just fine. It completely is up to you and what you are wanting to do with it. What's your approach to using CTA?

... 8 years later... animation finished ;D That has its place, but a good mix saves so much time. But we'll most likely see AI make animation obsolutete to some measure in the industry, opening up the world of story telling to everyone with a computer and an imagination.

The speed is fine, even slower would do. Also it will be a tonne of help if you could teach Garry Pye like color full characters.

@@Boxels that is quite disappointing. I find it annoying that they do not provide real tutorials for creating characters from scratch. I guess they just prefer you to keep using the store. However I feel that using pre-made art limits and takes away from my project. Thank you for your time.

@@bojanboli4814 I agree. The characters are limited to what I will call "lacking in artistic style". They are fun, and good for learning, but if you want to make your own stories, there is a disconnect on how to create characters from scratch. They are improving, but it's a process that needs to be easily taught. Something many community members are working on, but Reallusion only seems to care if you are a huge influencer already. :/

Finally, a proper CA5 tutorial other than the ones at Reallusion. Looking forward to the next parts. I have a question though. Most character creation tutorials end up with characters with no line-art. Is that harder to accomplish in CA5?

Line art is tricky even for pro studios, but tools like Toon Boom have ways to fix this in their node editros. With CTA it's not something that's easily fixed if at all, so you will most likely see line-less characters in CTA. Would be cool if they implemented an easy node editor to compensate for illustration lines. They are doable, I have a few in my store, but they are high end rigged charactesr to look good.
