016 BASIC JOCKSTRAP TUTORIAL

This is the sewing tutorial for Sew It Like A Man sewing pattern for the basic jockstrap. You can download the free pattern from my website below.
It only take a small amount of stretch knit fabric, 1 1/4" wide elastic for waist and 1" wide elastic for leg straps.

@@MrAndreferrari my first one. was pretty goos and I tried another with even better results. Kind of up to you if you pick comfortable elastic and a fabric with a bit of stretch it'll be really comfortable. This pattern and video was a great starting point for me. I made little tweaks to my liking but learned a lot about construction through this video and pattern.

I actually tried it and failed :( I love wearing jockstraps for sports, running, jogging, the gym, and for bed so I was happy to learn how to make my own but, I didn't do so well. Its a good thing I have 25 pairs lol. Also if you pause the video on each step technically it is written how to do each step.(Hope that helps you more than it helped me)

I would have liked the seams turned under at the top and the elastic stitched so the elastic is away from rhe body, a smoother feel

What if you don’t have a serger? Is it still possible with a regular sewing machine ?

If it won't help you, maybe it'll help others. It is possible. Some of the sewing machines have serger option and even if yours don't have one, there are still ways to do it. It may not be this durable tho, but I guess it depends on your skills and the way you chose to sew it. (I do not sew, but my mom does and that's all I remember)

Yes, but you might want to use an over cast foot and a zig-zag/stretch stitch.
