How I wish you were my professor in that course. I hope ganito yung style ng mga profs ko sa mga social studies courses ko noon. I was one of many na tingin sa history ay boring. Sa tingin ko, it is because we were force to memorize all of this details without proper narratives to connect all of those information. Sa style ng channel na to, mas madali na maintindihan yung buhay ni Rizal. And nagbibigay din ng justification kung paano ito nagiging relevant sa panahon ngayon which is a motivation for me at least to know more. I hope marami ka pang nagawang video na ganito.

Sa totoo lang ha, mas na-eenjoy at na-iintindihan ko ang way at explanation ni sir, kaysa sa instructor ko dito sa university na pinapasukan ko. Kung ganto sana yung instructor ko, malamang mag eenjoy ako na pumasok sa subject niya at higit sa lahat makukuha talaga yung punto ng pag-aaral ng LWR. Yan yung klaseng mga video na dapat umiiral pagdating sa kasaysayan at historical figures natin. Very nuanced and in-depth, hindi lang parang rudimentary na pagsasaad ng mga facts na alam na naman natin. I guess my only personal nitpick (which isn't too much of a big deal) on this one is sana na-include din yung nagaganap na Hispanization movement na nabanggit dun sa libro ni Nick Joaquin na "A Question of Heroes" (which is a GREAT read, btw). It says something about racial assimilation in which sa sobrang impluwensya ng mga Kastilla sa atin, parang gusto na rin nating maging Kastilla. But seriously, I wish we had more video essays that are of much higher caliber of nuance such as this one.

Because of this na-gets ko na rin talaga yong galit ni Rizal. Alam ko na nangyari lahat ng ito pero wala akong pakealam noon. After watching this parang naging si Rizal na lang din ako. Grabe pala talaga yong ginawa ng Spain sa atin. They took our rights sa sarili nating bansa. Minaliit nila tayo sa sarili nating bayan. Imagine? We are Filipinos and Philippines is our home pero nandidiri sila sa atin?? kahit na sila yong nakikisiksik at nagnanakaw sa bansa natin. The audacity of those friars and spanish ppl. Kawawa talaga ang mga Filipino noon pero mukhang walang pinagkaiba sa estado ngayon. Kawawa ang mahihirap:)

But to cover most of the content, the main ones I used are Imelda C. Nery's "Life and Works of Rizal," Schumacher's "Making of a Nation," Zaide's Rizal biography, and the podcast "Rizal on Air."
