Got an idea how Zane got Terra Firma: Change the prom episode a bit so that the prom king vote was a tie between Chaz and Zane and with Chaz walking away he got to duel whoever the girl was and naturally won the super secret card (which some poster in that episode showed as beeing "a brand new release donated by Industrial Illusions") Also have a quick shot of Zane putting a hidden card (i.e. Terra Firma) into his deck before the duel starts or at the end of the last episode, with him remarking that this card will help him beat Jaden.

@@dannybishop9179 You know, the thought occurs...for as dumb a joke as it was, if dub-only, both as a running gag _and_ as a callback with an implication of it being an actual card...considering the absurdity of Sevens thus far, and all the plots and aesthetics that _have_ been based around food...Rush Duel cards being based on grilled cheese almost seems reasonable. Lest we forget: ramen ninjas, ramen elementals representing celestial bodies, sushi angels, and an out-of-nowhere "You're Not You When You're Hungry" Snickers reference.

​​@@Ulysses96331The original comment is referencing part 1 of this rewrite series, where Jaden, instead of receiving Winged Kuriboh from Yugi, received the Elemental Heroes from Pegasus which were an "exclusive, one-of-a-kind" deck of his design he was at Duel Academy to exhibit. It's why, in this part, it makes reference to Jaden's "other deck" crying out - he forgot it that day he was challenged by Crowler (in this version, Jaden was already accepted after winning his entrance duel but Crowler wants him out for the same reasons as in the original), and Pegasus initially loaned Jaden the deck and, after Jaden won, let him keep it.

These were really good episodes! I'm loving the direction your version of the story is going so far! The only feedback I would offer is I feel like there's a lack of "filler" and on paper that sounds good! But part of the charm of GX, at least for me, were the low stakes episodes that gave us a better feel for the characters, something like the golden eggwich episode. The low stakes you've shown so far have been used mostly to introduce new characters, like Chazz or Bastion. But I feel that having just a fun nothing duel for Jaden or Blair or anyone really to show off their personality or be goofy or just have duel over something petty like someone took the last slice of pizza and they wanna duel over it. I think stuff like that humanizes the characters a lot more and helps us feel for them when shit does hit the fan like the stuff that's happening with Shadow-Wheeler. Other than that like I said loving the videos!

That's actually a really helpful note, so thank you. I've been debating how many slice of life episodes I feel that I should do. I wanna keep the episode count at 52 per season (we've just cleared 10 with this vid), so I had to drop some to make room for the extra plot I want to work in. But I think you'll like some of the more character development oriented episodes (I don't wanna call them filler - more like the Kaibaman episode where they move character growth along without progressing the Shadow Rider/Sacred Beast plot). We've got a field trip to Duelist Kingdom, a tag team duel featuring Syrus & Blair, and yes - of course - THE GOLDEN EGGWICH!!!!

Honestly. a lot of GX felt like it was laying the tracks as it went along. Your approach is more like what if the writing staff got their lives together. I do like how you've given Alexis' cyber angels from the start and incorporated Blair so that the cast is less homogenous. I also like that you've kept the comedic spirit of GX alive in some shape or form with much more explicit signs of what is to come. I'm impressed.

@@GodOfKa ah man, I love it when you all make suggestions. Makes it feel more like it's our world rather than just me alone. If it weren't for all of you, there wouldn't be any shows, so I figure you deserve to be a part of it as much as I can make it work. As for Terra Firma, that's an excellent question! We'll explore this a bit more down the road once Jaden starts using Terra Firma himself but cards like Terra Firma and Grandmerge (oops, was that spoiler?) amalgamate the personalities of the Heroes who make them - kinda like Dragon Ball or Digimon Fusion. The Omni-Hero fusions work like I described in the first video. The Masked Hero forms are essentially Sentai suits that various Heroes will be able to use. The Neos fusions will all retain Neos's personality. And then there will be a tier of "God" Heroes (they won't actually be called that - just what I'm calling them in my outline) that have completely new and distinct personalities. Not 100% sure how I'm gonna handle the Destiny or Vision Heroes - or if the Visions will even play a role. I kinda want EVERY Hero in there at some point but there's a lot. So we'll see.

@@SpellCommander91 I always imagined the Vision Heroes being like mindless Android sentinels the Heroes can rely on for battle. I completely agree with the Masked Hero idea being "suits." I like that a loooot. Maybe the Destiny Heroes should just all have anti hero personalities and follow the same ideal, believing darkness is more prevalent. As a homage to their dark typing. Maybe they behave cult-like, as a homage to the society of light and Sartorious.

@@InfiniteAssassin Also: considering that the Extra Deck limit wasn't established until the _name_ "Extra Deck" was applied, with the advent of Synchros, most people that had anything to _do_ with Fusions just shoved every useful one available into the Deck anyway, so long as it was practical to haul them around. No good reason _not_ to have something as potentially useful as Terra Firma in your Deck, so long as you don't need a bunch of specific ones.

I do like how you are making Alexis take a much more active interest in finding Atticus compared to the anime with how she was usually either just talking to Zane at the lighthouse about it or just only going into action when Jaden did. I could see Bastion getting into history like he is here, but aside from that, I don't know what being a transfer student has to offer for the plot, and the way his duel was with Jaden was kind of the same. I really like the rivalry with Zane and Jaden. They have differing views about Syrus and how he duels at times, yet they are still trying to understand each other and respect for each other as duelists the more they battle it out. Regarding Terra Firma, the whole "the anime didn't always make sense with cards either" reasoning just seems lazy. This is precisely your chance to make things like this make more sense, so why not take advantage of it? You could have just said that Zane bought it at the store beforehand in an effort to plan ahead to surprise Jaden in a duel if a situation like this with de-fusion and whatnot came up. It's completely believable for Zane to be able to pull this off. The monkey thing with him getting the mask on just seemed ridiculous imo. No offense. The whole "Wheeler" thing was really just the dub writers poking fun at their interactions of Kaiba and Joey. Kaiba Corp. would probably never stoop to illegal animal testing in actuality, especially right there on school grounds. Unpopular opinion, but I could do without early Yubel and Supreme King. It's already been done to death in fanfiction and never adds more to the plot since it more or less just ends up Gary Stu-ing Jaden up with making him more self-aware and easily able to solve the whole plot of the anime.

Loving the rewrite so far (I've been planning out my own rewritten GX in my head before I even knew about this video series). Though I do have to say that I'm not a fan of Zane summoning Terra Firma, especially since in the first video, you said that the Elemental HEROs were one-of-a-kind and never-before-seen. I personally would have gone with the manga angle with Jaden already playing HEROs and being given a new HERO deck by his idol, Koyo Hibiki. Then, you could tie in that the reason Zane had Terra Firma was that Koyo gave it to Zane (as Zane is also a fan of Koyo), and that Zane purposefully decided to use it against Jaden, knowing he possessed Koyo's deck (and Terra Firma's fusion materials), with plans on giving Jaden Terra Firma after the duel. Anyway, keep it up. I'm really enjoying this series, and I'm curious how you're going to handle tying season 2 into everything.

Why Terra Firma is in Zane's Deck? Becuase you need a side deck to counter your opponent and most of the people knew that Pegasus gave Jaden a HERO deck, so Zane put Terra Firma to counter HERO deck (like putting Vision HERO Trinity and Super Poly to your Extra Deck during the official tournaments in case that you face against a HERO board that you are unable to break.)

I think the reason why characters have non-sensical fusion monsters in the anime is because fusion monster cards don’t exist in the same way they do for us. I feel like it’s the same as the Synchro system from 5ds wherein only after summoning the monster does the card manifest. Maybe fusion is the same?

You should see Kevin Jones Reviews's rewrite for the ending of Arc-V(a). It's not as well presented as this, and it doesn't address _all_ of the problems (considering the FUBAR state of Arc-V(a) by the end, what rewrite could?), but its overall construction is FAR superior to the original in understanding its own themes and providing a thrilling if melancholy conclusion.

I always thought a Yugi post Atem story would be nice, but then I realized that there wouldn't be any way to challenge him. Most protagonist start off at a pretty decent footing but not at the top of the world. Yami Yugi defeated National Champion Kaiba, Judai beat one of his schools best teachers, Yusei was at the level of the champ early on (though Jack unknowingly had his duels fixed), Yuma defeated the National Runner Up, Yuya defeated a reigning champ etc. All strong starts but nothing supernatural Yugi would be coming off of beating the strongest duelist in existence at the time who had the strongest cards in existence while he himself had a weakened deck. At that point, not even Kaiba would be a challenge for Yugi. How would you reasonably be able to establish a challenge for him? Unless the idea was that it wouldn't be dueling focused

Camula is about to activate her duel disk when she hears someone behind her. She turns to see Zane who has his duel disk on his left arm. Zane ends up taking Alexis' place in the duel.

I am perfectly okay with it every other week, they are well made and of high quality. I enjoy it every time. Personally I am a Zexal/ Arc V kid. I grew up and learned Yu Gi Oh from those and then backtracked. I will still admit they had their plot issues. I would love it if you did a rewrite for those too. I know it is a tall order, but no matter how long they take( if possible) I will be there forever, especially if they are as good as the GX rewrite is so far. #SC91forever.
