I am a 67 yo non Mormon woman who Knits and sews besides a few other hobbies AND I do these activities while listening to Mike Drop! This demographic had their formative years in the 60’s and 70’s. When great leaders were 187’d, the Vietnam protests and rioting took place in major cities, title 9 for women and the sex revolution took place. It was the drugs, sex and rock and roll formative years. It really is not a stretch for this demographic to seek out and listen to your refreshing not give a shit podcast as THAT is an era many of us were an integral part of. This female senior citizen will continue to listen. I am not offended being put into the crochet lady category. It is a badge of honor to live in this great nation and be blessed with longevity.

Yes women watch Mike podcasts. Yes, if women are going to be honest, it’s very attractive to see the best of the best in their best and worst moments. As a veteran and former cop myself, I appreciate the masculine strength, and I pray my daughter understands what real masculinity is and not allow this pathetic political spectrum to control that truth.

Jeff. You're one of the most helpful people I've ever heard relative to the discipline of exercise. Thank you very much for sharing, and being humble. I spent four years in the Navy, got out and spent more than twenty years in the heavy commercial/industrial concrete world. The first eight years included wearing 25-40 pounds of gear, nails, tie wire etc. for 12+ hours a day in the extreme heat, rain, cold, and mud. That left my body extremely out of wack, and basically jacked up. Now all I can do is drive trucks all over the country. Your few words and phrases encouraged me to get off my fat ass, change my diet, and do a little more as I'm able to. A little bit is better than nothing! The more of a little bit, the more you can do. I'm slowly seeing changes, felling better, and still inspired. Been several weeks and just wanted to come back here and thank you for the inspiration. Thanks to Mike as well for your ability to bring pipehitters on the podcast and getting them to show their human side. To their own credit they're good people anyway; but I think they're probably more candid on your Podcast than they would be elsewhere on a public platform. Kick Some Ass guy's!

OK finally got around to finishing this podcast. The dude is like a walking pharmacy. He takes so many chemicals and supplements that it's in-congruent with his own advice to others. He rambled on about getting a good sleeping pattern in place, anchors, good routine and then let slip that he gets stoned everyday on weed. Maybe that has something to do with you improved sleep? I think that we have caught this guy in the midst of a major phase of his own personal development and i'd bet you 100 bucks that in 2 years time, he wont believe much of this anymore but will have a whole new range of supplements and potions that are essential. I've seen it before. Full respect to Jeff and I hope his recovery from opiate addiction continues to go well and that his various other issues improve and heal over time. It will be interesting to hear from him again in a few years to see if anything has changed.

Very well said about why podcasts are becoming so popular here recently. I think that nails it that people want to listen to non filtered no bull shit content. And hearing it from people who know what they are talking about because they have lived it..Also just wanted to see if anyone else remembers watching Voltron defender of the Universe on sat morning cartoons? Or my other favorite was a cartoon called " Brave Star" with the Texas ranger that could get super powers through a ring or something and he could say, " strength of the bear!" And he would have super human strength.. lol loved it

First time listener here. Absolutely loved it and will become a steady listener from now on and add to your Left-leaning audience. I sort of hate that being supportive of the Military has a Political Allegiance and to be honest, I consider myself to side mostly on the Left and I like to hear stories from men like these, the Tip of the spear, and hear what they do in order for us to keep our Freedom of Speech and the American Individuality in Opinions. We get to have Opinions because at the end of the day, we are all Americans, and they are part of Keeping America safe. Just a little share of opinion on my beliefs to as Mike said, Large demographic.

2:09:41 That’s one place I’d disagree slightly. There’s a difference between minimal effective dose and max recoverable volume. Yes minimal effective dose is superior to more volume than you can recover from, but that’s not the same as max recoverable volume. For example if your goal is body composition, if you’re bulking and you have a surplus of calories, optimally you should do max recoverable volume for optimal results. If you’re cutting and you’re at a caloric deficit you should do minimal effective dose for maintenance. Neither are mandatory for results, but they are optimal given their respective circumstances. A lot of people mess up the max recoverable volume part. It’s very easy to over train when you’re trying to do max recoverable volume. It takes a lot of research on your individual patterns to find out where your muscle protein synthesis and breakdown thresholds are. If muscle protein breakdown is greater than your capacity for muscle protein synthesis you’re over training.
