I love watching your videos and love them even more now that I know you’re in Vegas! Are there any groups for resin around town? I just started (or am trying to start). I had a hard time this summer/fall as my house was still hot and my resin was curing so fast because of it. I can’t get my house below 76 in the summer. 😢
@ZZCreative-lvnv11 ай бұрын
@@DenverCraftingPostI don’t personally know of any resin groups locally! But I am always happy to help you learn ☺️! I used to pour in the garage but can’t in summer because of the heat and I get fast cures too!

Actually Octopus inks are not expensive. They are twice the size of other alcohol inks and they don’t fade like regular alcohol inks.

Absolutely beautiful. Looks so 3D. I'm struggling with a basic bloom, lol. How l9ng did you leave your white before piping on? Was it thick? Thanks x
@ZZCreative-lvnv11 ай бұрын
Thank you! It’s okay to struggle with resin as it can be a tricky medium to work with and believe me it took a lot of practice, but I have enjoyed the challenge! For this particular resin I wait for it to heat up to at least 35C, to no more than 40C before I decant to make my white. I usually do 30grams for my white. This process usually takes about 20 minutes depending on my room temperature. I do have a thermometer and will physically take the resin’s temperature 😄! The resin at this point will thicken and you can feel it getting warm in your cup. I hope that helps! Just keep trying and watching. You will get it I promise!
@traceysmartart11 ай бұрын
Aww thanks for replying. I'll try taking it's temperature, lol.

Gorgeous! I’ve been watching so many videos (mostly Julie’s) and haven’t nailed the blooms yet. What is your secret to keeping the stick clean when laying the white down? Your cup was off screen so I couldn’t see. I’m not giving up!!!
@ZZCreative-lvnv11 ай бұрын
Don’t give up! It look me a long time to learn this and I too learned mostly from watching Julie and trying to get it to work, but once you get it you get it ☺️🙌🤗! Funny, I used a paper towel but I didn’t even use it to wipe my stick between putting down the white and redunking the stick. Honestly by the end the stick was tinted a little pink/orange!
@DonnaKapper11 ай бұрын
When I do that I always wind up tinting the white along the way. I’ll be watching what you do from now on!
@66danette11 ай бұрын
So you used just titanium white to get petals?
@ZZCreative-lvnv11 ай бұрын
I did! Sometimes I add white alcohol ink but this time I did not. As long as you make your white somewhat transparent and not too heavy, especially with this brand it totally works!

I been playing with resin for a bit but now I am getting molds and wanting to try different techniques

Beautiful. I saw you strike through with the bamboo stick on the orange and then swirled all of your colours. Do you strike through all of them as well?
@ZZCreative-lvnv8 ай бұрын
I had to go back and check ☺️ so yes it looks like I only did the 2 center orange ones, but not the others. There is really no rhyme or reason other than I was trying to get movement to the piece and drawing the eye towards the center.
@Oops-IMeantToDoThat11 ай бұрын
How do you get the die and white to move to center of each flower, rather than the center of the mold? All of mine move to center of mold. Beauteous
@ZZCreative-lvnv11 ай бұрын
Hi you have to wait for your resin to warm (35C-40C) so it thickens before you drop the inks ☺️

Hi thank you for the wonderful message 🫶! Resin is a fun but sometimes challenging medium to work with. I used Ultracast by EliChem. This is a company in the UK. I would say it is a medium resin. I did wait for the resin to heat up to at least 35C. Hope that helps ♥️ and I apologize for the delayed response. i have been moving 🙂
