03 30 05 Jasam (Oh Distractions)

General Hospital March 29-31, 2005. Sam goes to the jail to ask Courtney to cover for Jason who is interrogated at the metro court. An eye witness was left to identify Jason, Maria, Diegos mother. Sonny catches Sam looking at the picture of Michael and blows up just as Jason walks in. Jason and Sonny hash it out and Sam comes downstairs to um...distract Jason (their sexiest kiss ever in my opinion). Unfortunately it is cut short by the police who take Jason down to the police station for a line up.

No other compares to Sam! She has ALWAYS accepted Jason for who he was, stood by him through everything. That’s why it makes me SO MAD 😡 that he couldn’t trust her enough to tell her that Jake was his son. And that’s all she wanted was for him to claim his son, but of course Saintly Elizabeth convinced him not to tell her😡 and that’s how our favorite couple was destroyed 😡

This is when GH was amazing. I was in 8th grade and started recording it, got my mom and then my dad hooked on it lol if they return to their mob roots like this, GH would be amazing again.

“Mob roots”? The roots come from the show being about a hospital, not a mob. These years had entertainment I guess, but they were some of the worst ones of the show imo.

@Isaiah Hill Yes, "mob roots" because Sonny and Jason became the people to know in GH, no one gave a damn about the hospital and whiny Elizabeth and the stupid cops of the PCPD. During this era, the mob was the root of this show, and the only reason this soap was still one of the last ones standing when the others were starting to fall off air. I respect your opinion, but to deny that the mob made a lasting impact on this soap would be living in denial. General Hospital only became relevant due to the mob ties. Today, I'm not sure that's true, but I'm speaking for this time specifically in soap history.

@@lovelymarin3704 Um, the mob and the hyperfocus on Sonny, Carly, Jason, and Sam during this time period is what nearly got the show cancelled in 2011. The only reason it survived was because the president of ABC daytime during that period Brian Frons favored GH over the other soaps, and he was fired by the end of that year. Even OLTL got higher ratings than GH did. If anything, the reason why GH is still on the air is because Luke and Laura under Gloria Monty (the EP at the time) saved it from cancellation in the 80s (or late 70s; I’m not exactly sure). True, the mob has been a part of this show for decades (Luke was actually introduced through a mob storyline), but it didn’t fully dominate the show until mid/late 2002 when Robert Guza Jr. returned as the head writer alongside Charles Pratt Jr. and Frons (his first two stints before that were during March-September 1996 and December 1997-end of 2000 but Wendy Riche was the EP of the show during that time; Jill Farren Phelps was after her from mid-January 2001 - January 2012). If anything, the mid-90s under Claire Labine’s writing were why GH was more relevant and the stories she was most known for had NOTHING to do with the mob. As for Elizabeth, she was originally going to get killed off instead of Jake in 2011, but her fans protested before Guza got the chance and the Jake story itself was the reason why Guza got fired in 2011 (should’ve happened a lot sooner tbh). Though his eras of GH had stronger day-to-day writing, he was the worst head writer GH ever had. He had no respect for the show’s vets and history and played favorites all the time; the number of characters he ruined is a number no other writing team for this show has ever come close to. It was because of Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini that GH is still on the air today; that is a known fact.

When GH was the best!!! Nobody male or female, in my family missed an episode or taped it in VHS lol. Breaking up Jasam or Carly & Sonny seems unbelievable no matter what is written
