I love how a lot of rich American families have roots in farming

Damn yeah that’s insane it’s almost like if you go back 300 years 90% of people everywhere were farmers

Without the financial support of the Moody family of Texas there would have been no Hilton hotel chain. I’m surprised this wasn’t acknowledged.

There’s a lot of stuff that the seems to get lost in these stories. ESPN was about to go bankrupt until Coca-Cola gave them a loan. FedEx founder gambled the companies’ last 5K and won enough to keep them alive. Jack Daniel’s recipe invented by a slave. The list goes on and on. Pablo Escobar only killed 4K people while the Sackler’s have killed over 600K! Pablo’s biggest problem, no LLC hahahahhaa

You know. I seen an old western movie a long time ago. One of the lines in the movie was. When the legend becomes the fact. Print the legend. There are a lot of untold truths out there.

0:42 - Christmas day in 1887, with a car parked by the house? Rly? 8:02 - 1918??? The US entered WWI on April 6, 1917. Connie certainly didn't rush right into the service. 20:15 - Mary Barron Hilton filed for divorce after Connie had busted his ASS, all through the depression, to keep a roof over their head and food on the table, working long shifts at his hotel, with very few days off, to keep down expenses. Meanwhile, she was the American housewife who, unlike MANY others during the depression, never had to be homeless or hungry. She felt neglected because he was taking care of the kids and her because she was a selfish b**ch. Sorry, but I call it as I see it. 20:47 - That's only part of the story. As the country came out of the depresion, most businessmen who were in debt negotiated payment amounts with their creditors, for less than they owed. Connie refused to do that. He repaid everyone who ever loaned him money or gave him credit, in full, plus interest. Because of that, AND not going through bankruptcy, his reputation was "bulletproof." People were almost lining up to loan him money and do business with him, because they knew their money was "safer than if they put it in the bank." 24:42 - That's a NEW MEXICO tumbleweed, thankyouverymuch!
