Hi, my name is Amy! In school, I learn at a very fast pace for Apanish. So when I get home, I'm very confused with homework sometimes. But with your videos and explanations, I have learned a lot. Can you do the part where you give us words to work on ourselves and then you reveal the answer. For example, you say "let's say I want to say beat the eggs in command form." Then, you give the spanish word "bantir." After about 5-6 seconds, you reveal the answer. From your old videos, whenever you did that in the end, it really helped me. This is just something that helped me. But keep up with these awesome videos! Have a wonderful day!

Very nice informative video. For some reason, maybe the fault is mine, but I can't seem to get my Spanish teacher to explain the command verb forms. For me, in every-day real-life situations, I believe THAT would be very useful at the stores and restaurants, where I frequent. Things like: step up, step back, move over here, slide over there, pick your plate up, put your tray over there, pay at the counter. Your video helped me so much. Maybe I should tell my maestra....."TEACH me the Spanish command verb forms". At least now, if nothing else with the help of your video, I will be able to say it correctly in Spanish. And of course, I will do it only in the most respectful sense.

I have a question please : is there a difference between vayase and vaya ? is ir a reflexive verb , so we should add se to vaya ??

Good question. The verb "ir" and all of its forms have to do with going. So "vaya" is the Usted command for "go!" If you add a reflexive to some verbs, it makes them stronger in meaning or changes the meaning completely. So in this case, "irse" and all of its forms have to do with leaving or going away. So "váyase" is the Usted form for "leave!" or "Go away!" I hope that makes sense!

Wouldnt you use present tense conjugations for ar, ir, and er? You wouldnt use "a" for an er or ir verb, you would use "e".

Yes, the verb for Usted commands is conjugated just like the subjunctive. However, instead of beginning with a phrase such as "I wish that..." "I hope that..." the commands begin directly with the conjugated verb. The commands have an attitude that is direct and expects compliance, while the subjunctive is a bit less direct and assumes that the other subject has its own will and may or may not comply. Also, review the uses of the subjunctive, and that will help you to know when you are using the subjunctive and when you are using commands or "mandatos." By the way, look at the word "mandatos." Its cognate is mandates. Mandates, in English, are direct orders. I hope that this explanation helps. Hey! That's the subjunctive! ;-)
