Tinnitus refers to the perception of ringing or buzzing sounds in the ears and is another common symptom associated with acoustic neuroma. Tinnitus can manifest as a constant or intermittent sensation. It was wrongly told as tinnitus absent in acoustic neuroma, please correct it

Mam why action potential is not increasing in meniere's disease
@DrSujathasENTClasses
@DrSujathasENTClasses Жыл бұрын
Action potential is the sum of the synchrony of individual neural potentials of the cochlear nerve. The magnitude of SP is a reflection of amount of distortion in the cochlea. Hydrops changes the mechanical properties of the cochlea, leading to asymmetric movements of the basilar membrane, which may increase SP, which inturn increases the ratio of SP/AP. As disease progresses,reduction in the amplitude of AP can also occur due to loss of auditory nerve fibers.

@DrSujathasENTClasses 3 жыл бұрын
The worldwide incidence of Meniere's disease is approximately 12 out of every 1,000 people. Perhaps 100,000 patients develop Meniere's disease every year. Just to remind you that you are not alone,but be confident enough to conquer this.
