Danielle Burnett I always wonder that too if that was the same bat he used the night he killed both his parents. I like how it shows the struggles he faced with the fear of turning into his father since they look just alike. He truly struggled with that burden all his life and it explains why he did the things he did like the rape of Laura and accidentally hitting his grandson. He's not a bad person he just has a tortured soul with the guilt he faced of accidentally killing his mother

Sometimes shock and despair make you do things unthinkingly……… I think she had to DO something right at that moment to try to make something right…..that’s just what came to mind. Plus it put her on the floor which reminded me of Laura even though he said his mother….more tie ins which they are so good at. Plus it made her look more vulnerable with Luke’s violence.
