Welcome to another video, here I install a new oil pan gasket and clean it while I paint it a bit. easy process if you have a Silverado or GM and some other vehicles. I show somewhat and try to explain the stuff you gotta do.

Your a life saver for those last two bolts I almost broke the oil pan because I couldn't understand why it wouldn't come out.

I seen on another video you have to use rtv on the front corner of the oil pan because it leaks from there even with a one piece gasket?

If you open the oil pan, better to clean oil strainer and change the o ring

I’m will be changing the oil pan on my 07 what are the torque Specs for the two lower bolts that connect into the transmission and not the ones with a plugs thanks 👍🏼

No i didnt used any but if you want to keep it from moving apply little bit of rtv around..

once you removed the pan can you see the rod bearings or is there a secondary pan covering them?

Yeah theres a plate there.. after you remove it you can see the rod bearings..

With a rust belt truck like mine, there's no way that front crossmember is coming out 😂 I think I'm just gunna live with the leak. Good vid though

With some pliers grab it from the side and just pull them

How much did that crossmember weigh that you took off, rough gestimate?

Should be around 8-15lbs i believe might be wrong anything 20lbs

Watched your video, but it was very dark and I could not see a lot of what you were doing. But it was informative. Maybe use a light so that viewers can see.

Easy but time consuming, live in a mobile home park. I have to move fast when the vehicle is lifted before the rats come out haha.

edgardo estrada no bro just placed the gasket on it and snugged the bolts then just did a quarter turn thats it

edgardo estrada yeah bro hopefully goodluck and be safe 👍🏼 try to change also the oil drain bolt and get it with a crush washer or gasket on the bolt if you havent changed it..

what was your oil pan torque specs??

I did mine by feel just a good snug not too tight .. but the torque spec is 18ft lbs just go on a cris cross pattern when tightening the bolts.. what i did was i put mine by hand till they were all deep in then snug them cris cross which you can do but with a torque wrench 👍🏼

@@VirusBuilt ok thanks,, since its the oil pan and thats where the spends the majority of its life thats where youll get the most oil leaks.. there fore its highly recommended to torque as specified by the mfg.. 18 ft lbs is correct.. no oil leaks on yours ?

tudo cervera yeah bro.. and im getting like lil spots but not from oil pan or drain plug since i change those.. im assuming might be from timing cover or valve cover but im not to worry anymore since in the future im going to turn it into a v8 5.3 .. but before slappin it on imma change all the gaskets to keep them fresh..

@@VirusBuilt ok .. check your oil pressure sensor right behind the carb .. those tend to leak alot.. mine was i changed it no more leak..
