Can you please advise where to get a micro switch for this? Or a part number. I can't find one anywhere and nobody knows what I am talking about.

You can also install a remote battery disconnect for about $60. After you turn off the car hit the disconnect remote also

I've since fixed the issue, a bad switch in the shifter. Easy enough fix. Take some time but easy enough.

@G I didn't but a new switch yet, I had a spare shifter I robed it out of

The difference 5 speed and 2008 up 6 speed

You have a link for the micro switch you changed out? My 07 took me 15 minutes at work to finally get it to register it’s in park this morning 😩

I do not have a link for the part, but if you read this forum, you just might find what you need, read the whole thing, only 2 pages. This is what I used to diagnose mine. I have the “shift to park” notification on the HUD and the car will not start, the battery died, tried boosting it off, and continued to say “shift to park” with no start, plz help >:^-(

Put it in neutral and try and start it, it's most likely a bad switch in the shifter, easy enough fix if you can get another switch. Read this entire forum, it's what I used to diagnose mine.
