It likes being at your place so much, it doesn’t want to go home🤔

I used to lust after Norton 750's. Not any more!!

Why don't you anymore? Do you think these problems are normal with a commando?

I had a jamming gear change mech on my BSA, which turned out to be a sprung plate on the casing designed to locate with the various notches & hold it in any particular gear. When the spring developed a crack, no gear changes for me. Possibly the opposite of your problem though. I blame the awesome power of the clodhoppers, myself.

Incorrect indexing on the shifting quadrant cam? I believe the book details how it must be positioned and where the ball/knuckle arm needs to be before fitting the outer cover. Ideally, I'd like to confirm if the layshaft bearing has been replaced with the upgraded type from the OEM Portuguese made one that are know to fail at a relatively high rate. But that of course means the inner cover needs to come off to visualize the bearing in the casing.

Lovely looking bike but as they say. All that glitters ain't gold.

Really hope that, at least, the old PHARTZ lunch went well, Frank?

What's going on with that seat ? It should fit right into the knurled seat knobs BSA twins up until the a65 were one up three down The same as Norton I have to look away when I see you hammering a Stanley blade into a gasket! But then somebody has used some sort of gasket sealant instead of grease so I guess you gotta do something to get the cover off! Check the hairpin spring isn't fitted upside down If it's correct check the spring clearance and angles it has to be perfect to work

If you know what a British green Goddess is, it makes sense right now.

@@ashleyhoward8926 I think an Army Green Goddess would currently leave this "Green Goblin" for dust and be on standby for it's next unfolding mishap.

how'd the shift plate become so 'unattached' with no prior issues indicated ? my 'first' became hard to engage kast night, hope the fix is as straight forward. i think it was Napoleon who said he would rather have lucky generals rather than clever ones.

The engine/tranny were rebuilt ten years ago and never started. The two bolts holding the shifter assy in the outer cover were probably put in "hand tight" and forgotten.
@pdm22012 ай бұрын
I wonder who left the two bolts so loose that they both came out. Very strange.

Vibration and aged wear
@fjdelmonte2 ай бұрын
Most likely human error. Someone put the bolts in place and forgot to go back and tighten them.

Could the camplate be reversed in gear box to change pattern of gears?
@fjdelmonte2 ай бұрын
I have heard that is can be reversed, but never tried it.

Wonder how much money the owner has Spent. I had a similar relationship with a Triumph Bonneville. I was very demoralized.
