In my estimation, this presentation should be required viewing for all people of color who are Christians. The argument and evidence is sound, but may be difficult for most to accept because of the value we place on the African vs Western heritage. On Sabbath evenings, I enjoy listening to my African brothers and sisters rendition of the old western religious song, but am enthralled by the renditions sung in their native language. So much to learn and unlearn. Thoroughly accepting of the concept of the "third coming" of Christ. It is biblically grounded.

The norm or idea of christianity can be compared to the platitudes of the "teachers" who brought it....the disdain that should follow is also subjected to another's error/ errors of the said topic. We have been lied to for centuries...can we NOW RE. TURN N BECOME WHOM WE FIRST WERE? We may have become fearful of CRITICAL THINKING, PALEO HEBREW INTERPRETATIONS of OUR Writings, upsetting of COMMON USUAL ORDINARY RITUALISTIC UNDERSTANDING. We were NEVER called christians until the greeks/Rome came.....it is critical that we study think RE Evaluate, RE Analyze our Culture Our History Our Living which makes up the BOOK.

I love my brother Maphonga but the statement at 30:18 about not being holy in poverty is worrying to say the least. The idea of serving God for me is that I may follow the dictates of the HOLY SPIRIT and not my fleshly desires. The idea that the white men brought their culture to Africa the dress code etc is part of the history of Africa and it is not a salvational issue. Walking closely with Jesus helps us to understand truth which may include the fact that Jesus is not white but because we do not discuss these issues and do not have the platform that my brother has doesn't mean that we blindly accept some of these teachings. My opinion is that continue to study my brothers to show yourself approved. Rev.22:12.......

That's a very good question there, this man is contradicting himself. Now I am compelled to call Mapongwa out as the liar, that he is based on this video. First and foremost truth is not based on your life experience because your life experience may be a departure from the truth. Secondly according to the scripture, truth is a person, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Thirdly no person in the entire history of mankind can hate in the name of Jesus, or can kill another one in the name of Jesus, what the crusaders did in europe, what the Roman catholic did in Europe, what the Dutch did in south africa is clearly not the practise of Christianity because their conduct was not informed by scripture at all. Christianity in the whole world is the only religion that teaches to love not only your neighbor as thyself but also to love your enemies. It teaches us to bless those who curse us and despitefully use us. It's a misrepresentation of biblical Christianity to suggest that Christianity is responsible for the love of many growing cold. It's an adhominem argument for a person who calls himself a Christian to suggest that Christianity is anti- african culture and tradition. Which part of the bible condems african culture. As far as I can see the bible tells a story of how God loved us so much that he sent his only begotten son that we may not perish in our sins but have eternal life through believing in His son. Christianity condemns sin whether its European, Asian, American or african in nature and origin. But it never condems anyones tradition. If you must judge Christianity, please do so based on its text and correct practices and not on excesses of human sinners like you and me who goes around calling themselves Christian's but their lives does not testify to the truth of the Word of God. What folly that is in depraved man to think himself superior to His creator. There is no name given unto man by which man must be saved but the name of Jesus. Repent Mapongwa and believe the gospel, otherwise do not go around pretending to be a Christian spoke person.

Do you even know the real meaning of Christian/Christianity? You will be shocked to find out the real meaning. African people were genocided, raped, killed, dispossessed, enslaved, chopped off hands etc in the dear name of Christianity. Just to say a few? Christianity and white Jesus were made up for colonial conquest. Wake up black people!

Was Abraham; Isaac and Jacob white? Maponga you are an ignoramus. The bible says we speak of what we know we testify of what we have seen. Tomorow you are going to tell us that Jesus was white. That's foolishness. The bible does not teach that.

The man has a point in regard to Christianity being decolonised, Missionaries came and took away in my percpectives some african cultural practices which in no way contradcted biblical principles, whats wrong with worshiping Jesus with an african drum ? Wearing Afrcan clothes? (Woman covering their boobs ofcourse). Its just a pity he went into extremes this man to a point of denouncing the name Jesus , he lost it when he tempered with foundational principles of Christianity turning what started of good into heretic teaching, you dont mess with doctrine of the deity of Christ, Trinity, Holy Spirit, infallbility of the scriptures.

Religion was an evangelist for colonialism??? If you believe that then I really think you need to have your head examined. Why would you go get a degree on something you believe was an evangelist for colonialists? Are you a colonialist?

This guy practices folly and it seems his interviewer is not paying attention to his words. For example he ask a rhetorical question "why can I not call God the God of my fathers but I have to call him the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but I can not call him after my grandfather. Then he says something about his grandfather may have been into idolatry, then he says, I am not suggesting that you must worship him but honor him". Firstly, it's shocking that someone who claims to have a theology degree would make that claim as though they believe when we say God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we are worshipping Abraham, isaac and Jacob". The amount of contradictions and misinformation against Christianity in this video are shocking. One thing for sure Maponga; you are an attention seeker but certainly not a Christian.
