06 SI civic LSD trans to 02-04 speedo and shift selector conversion PART 1

In this video I cover the process of converting an 06 civic SI lsd trans to take the 02-04 RSX speed sensor as well as the 02-04 shift selector. Trans does have to be out of the car but it is very straight forward process.
This is done when you have n 02-04 rsx or a swapped car that already has n existing 02-04 rsx engine harness and ecu but you would like to install a trans with better gear ratio and or course LSD. This elimitanted the need for a speed converter and having more wireing in the mix.
What you need:
06+ Civic Si transmission
1 1/16" drill bit
02-04 rsx speed ring gear Part #41312-PPP-000
02-04 rsx shifter mechanism
02-04 rsx shifter cable holder
02-04 rsx VSS

As far as I know yes, as long as you swap all matching gear sets. Just make sure you swap the type S ring gear for the speedo sensor to the z3 differential as well. Why are you swapping case? Cracked case or something like that? And I'm glad you found my video useful.

Man that sucks! But yes type s will work, just remember the speedo ring gear and type s shifter. Lol Did the ear compleatly break off for the slave?

What size did you use to make the Screw Thread

Sorry for the late reply. I can't remember exactly, I used a step bit that just happened to be the right size on the last step. Just measure the sensor under or above the O ring n go next size up. O ring should seal the gap. Hope this helps.

Can you just change out the case to a K20A2 case???

I'm sure you could just do that, but its only economical to do that if you already have a spare case tho. If not it's worth the little extra time to rework the case to accept the a2 speed sensor and shift linkage.
