06 Variogram Map Isotropy and Anisotropy Structural Analysis for Kriging/Cokriging.
The main topic of this lesson is to identify if the data has an isotropic or anisotropic behavior. First, we are going to see the definition of isotropy and anisotropy. Then, we are going to talk about the geometric anisotropy and zonal anisotropy. Later, we are going to see what tools we can use to identify the anisotropy of the data. The next thing is going to be the creation of a script to plot the variogram map. Then, we are going to analyze the variogram map with the help of the experimental semivariogram in four different directions to have a better understanding of the structure of the data. After that, we are going to create the ellipsoid related to the anisotropy based on the Meuse River data set, as we are going to see, it is a combination between geometric anisotropy and zonal anisotropy. At the end we are going to create the script to plot the variogram map for data after removing the first order trend surface.
