Best video I have seen on this. This should be their start up vid. Thanks

I am new to dcc. I bought the components, built the command station and added Wi-fi. I have a kato n scale loco, added a ncen14k1 drop in decoder. Added the dccex web throttle and wifi through my Ipad. In either case, the loco keeps running even at zero on the throttle. Also, it won't go in reverse, and won't stop. So you think it is a problem with the decoder? I have been searching the web, and googling my brains out to come up with an answer. NCE said they can check it if I send it to them.

Looks quite simple to set up.

Did you have to upload software to the ESP8266? Does the Arduino Mega do this via the UART port?
@BillMastersMRR19 күн бұрын
All handled through the DCC-EX program on the Arduino. They included support in the software for the ESP8266.

Does anyone make a case for this setup, or have any recommendations?

This one might work but you would have to leave the top of the enclosure off. I opted to go without a case in favor of just mounting the boards under the bench. amzn.to/40g2ui6

@@BillMastersMRR, thanks for the help. I'm not that far along yet, but it definitely is a possibility.

A roco z21 system would probably be cheaper and is certainly easier to use. Why would you do this?

@crusader-t7s , Preference. For me I like writing arduino sketches and setting up EX-Rail scripts. I also like the fact that I can use parts that are readily avaliable for other industries. The combination of those two factors make DCC-EX limitless for anything i want to do with it. Assuming someone has the time and expertise. That's part of the hobby for me.
