John was in doyles pub years ago, i always wondered what was going through his mind ,i seem to remember him writing at the counter..i tried interaction with him however i just got a blank stare back..😂 Im sure he got some so good material from the characters that was in that bar. Our regulars were some funny people and the staff.

I always liked this podcast and David mcSavage, a lot of people dislike him, but lets be honest a lot of Irish people tie their emotions too much with comedy, in short they don't get comedy, that's why we have so many chicken fillet roll/is the emersion on humour merchants about. But I think the podcast is taking a great direction, firstly the name change is advantageous. I liked the old name it was creative and a good premise but his name has more recognition and I think the old name after a year created an antagonistic atmosphere for the first timer. The focus on the guest as opposed to the family will stand to it the family banter will come through regardless. I don't know if it would be possible given his age and lack of presence in the public sphere recently but I'd love to see Vincent Browne on an episode of this show, I think it could work
@jeffkemmy69806 ай бұрын
I actually thought of Vincent Browne as a great guest. I’d love to see it but I think maybe he’s not in good health but I don’t know tbh..
@fuzzylogiceire6 ай бұрын
Yeah. Sensible idea to change the name of the channel. Leaving McSavage's name and associated name recognition out of the title wouldn't help with growing the podcast.

Agree. Ever since TV3 stopped airing Tonight With Vincent Browne, there haven't been any good panel shows on Irish TV

“Most of life should be acoustic but now it’s electrified” - David McSavage.. What a great quote. It encapsulates exactly how life feels since Trump got elected in 2016, then covid, and now Simon Harris in charge of the country, God help us..

I understand that in the case of hung, drawn and quartered, most people were hanged and killed and then drawn and quartered but were already dead at this point. It was largely for the purpose of making a spectacle.

Hannah wonders why not enough people watched the Reggie watts video. Pretty simple IMO, Watts is a boring guest. Couple this with Hannah and the lads not being there and David hadn't got a lot to bounce off. To me this podcast is best when David can interact with the family. The epic tales of bridge burning and unresolved conflict are hilarious.

I do wonder if you're not missing a trick or 2 re new material & broadening the listener base of the podcast by not embracing your inner gardener & chefs... & having just a 10 minute gardening tips & chat section in the podcast.... and/or a little cookery section... & just think product placement " influencer" potential! You could be ploughing a lot more furrows David- & have your fingers in a lot more pies..... Mind you gardening would give you quite dirty thumbnails....( which could be a bit of an issue if were subsequently sticking them into pies & what have you!)....annnnyway.....

David, try listening to people.

Hopefully David will look at this podcast and realize that the life boat and the coast guard helicopter are around him in the insight and perspective that Hannah and Jack share about his process. His dismissive and sometimes cruel manner are not atributes of affection.. Daniel still waits for inclusion . This Comic Genius needs to create a space of silence and allow in the support and advice he is getting. From that wellspring new material will follow.
