The problem with MMI is that we say "Great", "Great" a few times and then get tired ---- "Ha !! How many times can I keep on saying this????!!!!" !!!!! But he keeps going, rendering a great piece after another great piece after another great piece, .................... !!!!!!

Mastero. He was influenced by the ruling English and English educated classes of course..He blended the Carnatic with European through use of sounds like trala la, zo zo zo, oui oui etc...very beautiful adaptations and not many will notice...

Also what interesting use of “ooooo” kaaram. Also the use of “la” and “luw” as a syllables versus the typically “tha da ri na” is idiosyncratic to this great stalwart. Some may hear him saying “love” in a Madurai accent = “luw.” Hehe

The best of Lalgudi's creativity in swaraprasthara wouldn't have been so thrilling then if he had accompanied any other so called contemporary singers with MMI. at LKJ's upcoming young age . He would have blossomed less ,if he had accompanied only other leading singers , at his time.
