I have a cx7 people forget that coolant runs to the transmission /transfer case cooler. If there is no obvious leaks and nothing in the engine oil . You can check the transfer case for coolant

Having this problem in my car the total repair I got quoted on was 2200 which was the cheapest I’ve heard. But the mechanic said that the bearings would fail eventually due to the antifreeze in the engine. I need help to determine if it’s worth it just to have the engine fail.

Hi - Did you end up replacing the water pump and did this fix it? I have a 2008 mazda cx9 that was throwing a code for the camshaft sensor. I had that replaced, then all of the coolant leaked out.

Yes I ended up doing a water Pump on this car and the leak stopped . Your problem might be different than the one I was dealing with. Mine didn't throw a thermostat code .

@@autorepairchamps You answered 3 of my 4 questions........ What is the tube and how do you remove it? How is it sealed? I know there is a gasket on the thermostat side, and you can wiggle the tube, but cannot seem to check the fitting on either end.

Actually, the leak in that area is a O-ring on the water pump area of the "tube with no name!". Ford can really do some stupid things...and this is one of them. IF you or someone reading this is looking here, then the answer is to remove the thermostat housing (2 bolts) and wiggle the housing till either the tube with no name and a O-ring at the housing comes off or the end at the water pump comes out, in which case you can buy a replacement O-ring and reinstall. At least it is not hard to see what you are doing from both the rear and the front of the engine with a flashlight.

@@kennethdandurand3472 It is a hole coming from the waterpump, it is designed so when the water pump gasket fail it leaks thru the hole . it is sealer with a gasket between the waterpump and the engine block
